I will consider letting my 69 340 go if someone is looking for their matching numbers engine. Late 68 build.

Is it missing a digit? Anything after the 7? If the roller dial stamp was worn, the number in front of the seven may
be a light strike. You may have to remove some paint to see if a number is under it.

Yes I am aware there is a missing digit. There is nothing after & pretty sure nothing before the 7 that I can see? If someone responded with all the digits I was willing to take the paint off for further inspection. Until then I would rather not...LOL Thanks for your comments Alaskan TA.

Very good of you to offer up the motor. If I had a car with that vin number and any number 0 thru 9 in the blank spot I would certainly buy it….......so should anyone in that case!!!!!

I'm not sure where your comment is going? Or what you mean? Thanks

Got it now! Sorry it was late for me last night when I read this. Ya I am just trying to help someone out as I'm trying to find my own engine. I'm pretty sure there is no number before the 7, I have seen a missing digit before on LA blocks.

Have you posted in "lost and found" looking for your motor? VIN# ?
I just posted one i'm looking for.........

Yes I have a post there. I put it in a couple weeks back.

If the roller dial at the end broke, the 5th roller could have slid over into the last spot?

If you can clean the paint off & look for a ghost stamp from a worn dial number that would be great, the rest of the information could be there just hard to see now.

I may sand it down this weekend & have a look..
