headliner glued to pinch weld correct or not?

I have the glass guy coming tomorrow. when I had my headliner installed they wrapped the liner onto the pinch weld. Does it need to be trimmed off of the pinch weld for the new window rubber? I assume those spikes behind it hold the headliner in place ??

The headliner does not need to be glued at the front - only the gripper teeth hold it. Edges will be hidden by the windshield gasket. I'd also trim it away from the pinch weld to allow a good seal.

I ended up cutting off all the headliner from the pinch welds and let the teeth do their job.
test fit the trim and gaskets good to go.
