1971 Demon
Fastback Coupe: 69,861
340 Fastback Coupe: 10,098
Total 1971 Demons: 79,959

1972 Demon
Fastback Coupe: 39,880
U.S 340 Fastback Coupe: 8,700
Total 1972 Demons: 48,580

Uh, they only made 18,978 original 340 Demons. I'd bet you can easily scratch half that number for attrition due to accidents and rust. So you're probably talking about less than 9k cars now left in any condition.

Galen Govier lists the numbers like this for 71-

10,089 1971 Demon H-codes built
7981 for USA sales
2051 4-speeds
4932 auto
998 A230

That's the most breakdown you'll see, not going to be anything by color other than the percentages listed for total production, and no other option breakdowns that I know of anyway.

will be giving him my offer thursday all he can do is say no,the guy is moving and says he will just sit it in a field, dont know if thats a selling ploy or not.

I had a 71 340 4sp with twin scoops , a go-wing , Sport mirrors , black buckets Rallye Dash Y9 back in the late 70s in Minnesota.

Anyone have the numbers for '72 340, 4 speeds ????
Yote
1667 for the 4-speed, 340s according to old Galin. I have one sitting in the corner of my shop that was originally used to run drugs back in its day. Original motor was blown and now has a '71 340 in it. It was being talked about at local car show one Saturday evening by a chevy guy calling it a Plymouth Demon. That caught my ear and so I asked him about it. All he had was some old polaroid pics of it from way back when. I asked to see em and to whereabouts of the car. He only knew the general area, but not the exact location. Took me a few weekends of searching to find it, but I found it. It was under an overhang off a barn. All 4 tires flat, but out of the sun and off the ground on blocks I bought it for $900, borrowed the wheels/tires off my Swinger and trailered it to the shop. It took FOREVER to get the title to it, but I finally got it. It's next on the list for a restoration.
Who knows how many still exist, but I suspect it's not very many. Most were automatics.

This is an old post but I’m hoping it’s still active. I’m trying to find numbers about the 72 340 4 spd demons also. Mine is GA4. Light gunmetal metallic of which only 2% of all the demons built in 72 where that color. Now add 4 spd and 340 as well as a/c, rear defroster, map light, bucket seats and I wonder where I stand?
