Had a 72 Firebird Formula 400. Had a slow ramp.,Stage 1 Comp hydraulic in it.8:1 comp,a slow beast ,at the street races. Picked it up,for 6 bills,and a bondo bucket Camroach. Loud,slow,and annoying .Yanked the stock 7k3 heads(88c.c.) Found a zero deck,forged piston smiling at me. Zero decked,no less.Threw a worn out set ,of 16 castings (basic 400/350 h.p. castings). New valvesprings. Threw a narrow lobe center(108) ,229/238 hydraulic at it.This thing boomed,through full tailpipes,turbos. Couldn't hook the car up,stock cast iron intake/Q jet. Hit the throttle,30 mph,tire smoke. With a 3.08 limited slip,26 inch tall tire.What's your story?
