Will a wheel with just over 5 inches of back spacing fit a 74 dart swinger all stock?

Will a wheel with just over 5 inch of offset fit a 74 dart swinger all stock?

5" of backspace you mean? 5" of offset would be pretty crazy, and totally different than 5" of backspace.

Depends. If the rim is at least 17" in diameter, then yes, a wheel with a bit over 5" of backspace will fit in the front. If it's 15" or smaller not a chance. In the back it will depend on the rear axle, if it's an 8 3/4 with the large 5x4.5" bolt pattern axles you'll probably need a small spacer if the springs are in the stock location. If it's anything else you'll need a fairly large spacer, probably over a 1/4" thick.

What wheels are we talking about?

Currently running 215/70/14 Uniroyal's that are old but barely worn. Really wanting to upgrade to a 15" Mach 500 wheel with some nice rubber in the future.

There are a lot of cars in this thread with nice aftermarket wheels on them, but I'm still a fan of body color wheels and dog dish hubcaps! Haha

15x7 Cop wheels/caps. 255/60/15 rear and 215/65/15 front Cooper Cobras.

Below is my finished combo. Stock suspension all around, 15" X 6" in front with 235-60-15, custom made backspace 15 X 8 in back with 275-60-15 in rear. Both are tight but both work well. The 275's will be a gift with my 3:73 ratio rear axle. Got my front end alignment today as well.

How did you you know I am a "former" desert rat? My Dart 15x8 Wheel Vintiques are 4 1/2" backspace.
About an inch to the leafs with 245s on it.

I agree, really cool.
Would that tire set up be to aggressive for the street? Would a 275/60/15 be more appropriate?

I run 325/60's but I'm not sure what is on that car. They look pretty big. Biggest issue really is tread design.

I do not know the back spacing I will pull the wheels off today and check. They did rub the front of the fender and had to trim a bit. After I changed to the Alterkation. I had to add a 5/16 spacer to the rear wheels to move them out. They sat too deep and looked funny after ha being 255/50/17 on before but I could not find a tire 275/50/17 that I liked will never buy the Riken Raptors again. They have no traction on wet roads.
