Hola my FABO friends! Spending a beautiful day working on the 440 and was wanting to primer my timing cover and valve covers before painting them Hemi Orange. Will Good Ole Rustoleum regular primer be ok as I dont think those places should get all that hot? Or do I need to go get engine primer?

Thanks!
Dale

Hmmm good point! Just thinking that those parts are more like sheetmetal unlike the heads or block and might benefit from a primer? That and I don't want these clean parts to flash rust till I get my Engine paint :)

Rostoleium Self Etching, green is my personal favorite.
Get it at Walmart or Lowes.
This is a great product.

I used Duplicolor primer on my oil pan then top coated with Chrysler orange enamel. Great adhesion and has lasted a long time!!

I just painted one of my valve covers with RustOleum Rusty Metal Primer (red oxide) and left it that way for now. Have not driven it much yet, but so far, so good.
