I need new tires. Currently I have 185/80 R13's on my Dart. My tire shop cannot find any tires of that size. Please let me know what other size tires I could use. FYI, I have owned the car since 1974 and my original slant six engine has 299,300 miles on it. This is not a show car, I drive it about 2000 miles a summer around town.

Bump up to some 14" tires and wheels.
14" steelies are easy to get. Add a 205/70-14 and a set of dodge dog dishes, and your set.

They have 185 R 13 tires at our local wal-mart.

...and they are $25 cheaper than the 185/13 trailer tires!!!

Update- wal-mart seems to have changed their tire search engine, and it now returns no results.

I was there last week and saw them. I even measured them against the trailer tires, as I need a tire for my trailer, and can't believe that 13" trailer tires cost more than 15" car tires.

Here is my 65 with a 205/70-14 with the standard 14"x4.5" rim.

The standard Mopar 14"x4.5" steel wheels are easy to come by.
They also have a 14"x5.5" steel wheel, that is a little harder to get, but they are out there.

Ditching the 13's was one of the first things I did.

There are still several who make 175/70R13s if you are willing to go down in size a bit.

I had a hard time finding tires that are not rated for trailer use only. Ultimately I wound up springing for the coys wheels. Best $540 I've spent in a long time :)

14" tires are getting harder to find than 13".

You can still get 15s on lots of new cars, and 13 is a popular trailer size.

14s are becoming an orphan size.

BFG,Cooper,Firestone,Goodyear,Kumho,Toyo,Michelin,we're just a few of the tires (205-70/14) I found with a 60 sec search.

If you want a "Orphan" tire, put on a 13" trailer tire. :thumleft:
