Strange days

I have a '61 Lancer with an A904.

The trans mount is shot.
They are not to be had (unless I want to pay $100+ for an original which might by now have rubber hard as cast iron).
No one makes a poly repro, and I don't want one that hard anyway. They're like a solid mount vibration-wise.

I've been told that mount is only for a 170ci Slant Six.

My engine is a 1968 225 with stock trans cross member.

BUT the real question is: will a 225 ('62 - up) trans mount fit my cross member?
It looks like this:

Will the '62-up trans mount fit my '61 cross member?
Thanks!

Ow. It hurts my head to try and remember that far back.
But I can tell you this; I once put a 340/904 in a 65and ran the 225/904 mount, which looked just like this one ;
I remember this because of what a PITA it was to replace the original oil-rotted one

It may have the same bolt spacing, but the newer and also the same up to 1972, is much taller than yours.

That tall-boy fit into the matching tall-boy crossmember and in addition to being retained by that little 5/16 stud was also crimped in.The sheet metal mount had to be unfolded, the mounts swapped and then the lips folded back over; that's what I remember.
That low mount would never work in the tall-boy crossmember, so crawl under and look I guess.

thanks

I gave in and paid through the nose for an NOS mount.

Hope the rubber's not as hard as a solid mount.

Arrived today in good condition, rubber looks pliable.
Will install asap.

Thanks for everyone's input.
