1964 Dodge Dart GT Convertible Honeymoon Dart
I bought the car in August of 1964 when I was 17. I got married in 1966 and drove it on my honeymoon (hence the handle 'Honeymoon Dart'). I still have it (and my wife) and am in the process of a retromod....on the Dart! The first picture was taken a few months ago in my garage in Massachusetts, the secon at Lake Tahoe in 1969 while I was working for uncle Sam. I'll be retireing the first of October and will have more time to devote to both. I'll post pictures of the progress. I know there will be questions, so please be patient as I don't have a lot of time to devote to the web.....yet!

redhotdart64 Will be happy if you start with Frame Caps on the whole Frame set.. Start from the bottom up, Frame caps added, and you know it will last for years to come... ED. 02-12-2009
redhotdart64 How much for the old engine 273? I would keep the 273 and rework the block and it could have way more punch then some big old 360, Alot less cutting too. Remember as close to stock as possible looks Best... I did the Brake change, I was lucky to have had A front clip from A 64 Dart Wagon, which has the stronger front end. I have 75 Hemi Disc on my 64 vert and it handles and stops on a Dime. 11" rears Drums. Drums still have more stopping wear then Disc. All I have to ask for are 75 factory Parts which should be around for awhile. All 75 Parts make it easy to find too. I wirered my 225 to electronic wiring which gave me one extra pole for extra's. No points to change either. Still have harness from Point setup So if I ever sell can give them the orginal setup. (Dist,Alt,harness,Volt Reg, and single pole Rest). Starter solenoid and Choke stayed the same. As I see yours is a GT model Keep it Factory as much as possible Lot of Junk yard calling... Don't change a thing just rebuilt, you wi 02-12-2009
Honeymoon dart Thanks, I bought the rims in 1968 from JC Whitney. They are in tough shape right now and I'm looking for the same type only with the larger bolt pattern since I'm changing over to front discs and an 8-1/4" rear.

I made the grill out of heavy weight diamond screen (it's close to 1/8" thick) and I had it chromed. I took the original grill out in 1965 (the 'grinning' look chreeped me out) and it was hanging in my Dad's garage until last year! It's dusty, but has no dings and when I am through, I may put it back in.

I will include more pics when I find them. Remember, digital imagery wasn't even on the horizon back when she was new, so all my pics are on 110, 126 or 35mm and must be scanned.

In case you're curious, it came new with a 225 Slant 6 with a 4 speed. It has a slightly modified 273 in it at the moment and I'm in the process of selecting a 360. I am planning on changing the 8-1/4 to 4:11 gears since I won't be driving it long distances. I promise to stay in touch w

66340SEDAN Nice looking car, I like the chrome rims! What did you use for a grille? More pics would be great! 08-23-2008
