1972 Valiant 4-door Blower project car 4-door Duster
Here are some photos of the Crazy Taxi; one action shot, some exteriors and some tech features about the buildup.
It's an original 318; P/S; P/B; A/C car.

Now has NO A/C, Firm Feel steering, and 8.75" A-Body rear, a pinion snubber, two electric fuel pumps, two filters, a complete half-inch fuel system (pickup to boost-referenced regulator); a 360 Magnum from a 2000 Durango; a Hughes cam, hydraulic roller lifters; a Holley 750 dp 4150 carb modfied for blow-thru by the Carb Shop in Ontario, CA ($900.00!!); a new M-P distributor; a Crosswind Chinese ripoff of the Edelbrock AirGap intake manifold, a Vortech V-1, S-Trim blower; 90/10 front shocks; a Snowperformance BoostCooler alky/water injector; A complete 2.5" H-pipe exhaust system from TTI, and their stepped headers and DynoMax mufflers; an MSD BoostMaster boost-referenced spark retard; a new driveshaft with BIG, un-drilled U-Joints; B.F. Goodrich 8"-wide (D.O.T.) T-A Drag Radials, 26"-tall, and a 904 T-Flite with a 2500 rpm converter and a Trans-Go shift kit.

It will get a timeslip from the strip in a couple of weeks, weather permitting. Ran 13.35 @102mph with a 750 Holley 3310, NO blower, a pair of early 340 exhaust manifolds and a low-rise 180-degree intake manifold.

I'm expecting about a 1-sec e.t. improvement and 12 mph increase. Good luck to me... LOL!

Bill Dedman Thanks for the kind words, BAD440! As an update on the 360, testing has determined that the supercharger picked up the Valiant about 1.8 seconds and 16 mph, from 13.35 @ 102 mph, to mid 11's at about 118 mph.

The blower made a different car of it.

bad440 awesome , cool,and vry nice.wish i had the $$$$ for some stuff like that ..... 03-09-2012
Bill Dedman The /6 car will be intercooled; we already have one, and it's been mocked up in front. My '72 doesn't make enough boost (10 pounds) to need one, with the Snowperformance BoostCooler. I don't know which picture the black thing is in; caan you be more specific as to the pic and location in the pic? I haven't a clue.... sorry. 01-31-2011
Rice Nuker Hows about an intercooler? Probably in your future? Bad ace mo-chine! What is that black air bag looking thang mounted to the drivers leaf? 01-31-2011
Bill Dedman Thanks for the kind words, Memike!!! You ain't seen nothin', yet.... wait 'til you get a peek at our (Freddie's and mine) '64 Valiant ("Valbert") 4 -door sedan turocharged /6 racer! It's going to be stock appearing, but hopefully, will be a low ten second car, if it runs like it should, and will make my '72 Valiant look like a SLED!!!

Talk's cheap.... we'll see.

memike A great sleeper Bill, It was so good to meet you and your friends with there great Mopars, Thank you for the BBQ and fellow ship and the trunk mat.
Small Block, 66aCUDA and I enjoyed looking at your build and the thing you made to change out a chunk in your 8 3/4 rear, That is a peace of art like all the cool work you have dun on your sleeper more door.
I lmao when I seen your post = I live 60 miles from the strip and don't much like walking home.

Bill Dedman Two complete fuel system; one for the street, one for the strip. Two tanks, two pumps, two filter, one regulator. I don't trust electic pumps, so I have it set up so that if either pump dies, I can switch over to the other system by flipping two switches and turning a couple of valves. I live 60 miles from the strip and don't much like walking home.... 10-22-2010
frogpirate Love your car Bill. I'm a big fan of sleepers, and when I was young(er) there was no bigger sleeper than a 4-door Valiant! Could you explain the fuel plumbing? You have more valves and hoses there than a Nuclear Reactor! :-O. Ken 02-12-2009
