This was powered by a 340 from one of my 70 Swingers. It had a shorty powerglide and 8-3/4. The only thing that ever broke was the transmission. Imagine that! The motor was basically stock with a .507 hydraulic Comp cam like the big purple shaft, .030 10.5 TRWs, and a mild pocket port on 2.02 J heads. The rear was a very narrow 8-3/4, 4:30 gear, with Mark Williams spool and axles, You want real good parts when your legs are over the axles, and your you-know-what is behind the pumpkin! Best ET was 6.265 at 107 in the eighth on pump gas. I ran it for about 3 seasons and never had the heads off. Note my 67 Dart bracket car in one of the pics after it was relegated to tow car duty.
