This is my 1967 Barracuda convertible presently being restored. I bought this car with the understanding that the block was cracked since water was getting in the oil. It was a pleasant surprise to find out that the timing cover was bad! Originally this is a 273 with a 2 barrel carb., P/S and A/T with column shifter. The engine`s been rebuilt with .030 over pistons and new rod, main, and cam bearings. The stock 2 barrel solid cam remains. A 3 angle valve job has been performed on the heads and I`ve added an Edelbrock LD4B intake with an Edelbrock 500 cfm 4 barrel carb. The ignition has also been upgraded to the MP electronic. The car came well equipped suspension-wise, it was ordered with HD leaf springs, sway bar, .87 torsion bars, as well as HD 10" brakes. Originally equipped with a 8.75 rear end with a 2.94 sure-grip, the pinion gear was broken which led someone to install a 7.25 in it. That has been remedied and an 8.75 SG has been reinstalled with a slightly higher 3.23 ratio. This car`s going to be all about cruising and my main interest is to make it as fuel efficient as possible and still maintain some performance. The car was sold new in N.Y. and had been there it`s entire existence until I bought it in June of 2006. I`m the 4th owner and have all of the documentation for this car including the original write up, window sticker, and salesman`s business card. The previous owners carefully preserved all of the repair receipts for this car over the last 40 years. Still being restored the drivetrain is ready to go, the interior is almost finished and the body work and paint is all that remains to be done. I sold this car to another member here and as of 3/16/2009 the car hasn`t been painted. It should be any day now that the car goes to the body shop. I can`t wait to see it with paint. Much more on this car on this site in the Members Restorations Forums. http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=12994
The car`s got paint, and I got a few pics of it when fishman dropped by. This is PP1 red for `67.
