Lexan Windshield

any body thought a bout doing a lexan windshield?? if you have and have any questions let me know i just did one on my car and it turned out amazing!! let me know if anybody has any questions

Thanks for the pics. I have never seen it done as a two piece before.
 
if you have the original glass to use as a template they are easy to make. I've done front, rear,quarter and side glass on a 67 fastback Barracuda and that is about the hardest car to do.
 
i didnt have the original glass so it took a while to make a template out of cardboard but after that it was easy..the reason its two peace is mainly cause its cheaper if that makes sense

it was easier to work with 2 seperate peaces instead of onebig one..and also if somethig happens to one side of it i dont have to replace the hole thing just the one side as for the NHRA comment every where i read it says it has to be at least 1/8th inch thick witch mine is doesnt say any thing about design requirments or any thing like that but not really planning on getting to hot and heavy with santioned racing our racetrack offers FNSR witch you just pay the fee they run you through tech (mainly looking for fluid leaks seatbelts checking tires and brakes) and away you go they run the full tree and its timed..so thats good enough for me

7.10 WINDSHIELD, WINDOWS, Stock-bodied vehicles

Mandatory, must be in good condition and free from cracks. May be replaced with shatterproof material, 1/8-inch (3.2 mm) minimum thickness. Windshield may not be cut for scoops, carb, etc. Windshield/window tint must meet the applicable government requirements. Windows must be closed during races, need not be operable. Decals permitted on rear quarter and rear window only.

Isn't that what you did ? You cut it in half ? I don't know but those tech guys are pretty technical ....

i am kind of wondering that too? will have to look into that but i am not to worried all else fails i can make it a one peace now i have a template
