Hi guys I posted a similiar thread in the wanted section but thought I might get more info from here. I picked up a pair of turbine wheels that I thought would look sweet on my 68 barracuda project and would love to locate a matching pair or a complete set, problem is I don't know much about them. any help here would be great the closest thing I've seen where some turbines from an old mercury but they appear to not be quite as dished and have a couple fewer fins.Anyway here is the pic I have.

i think they're superior.

Lots of companies made wheels like that. Western, Appliance, American Racine, etc... I have seen those called Vectors, Hurricanes, or Turbines. I got a set from a junkyard a few months ago and they had American Racing center caps.

thanks for the replies I knew I could get some info from FABO. I have looked online for any pics or info and found nothing that is a perfect match, but I'm not in a huge hurry so I will keep looking.

Just keep looking. They are out there. They turn up somewhat regularly on eBay. Just search for wheels using vector, hurricane, and turbine.

Or, you could get lucky like me and score a set at a junkyard:

Definately don't have the coin for that dude nor would I spend that for wheels anyway, Thanks though. I almost bought a set like on your van locally and kicked myself for passing about a month back. the differance is that the pair I just bought has like 40 fins and I havent seen any others like them and I really don't want to mismatch so it may take some time. the good news is I won them for like 40 bucks plus shipping on ebay ( I know I am ashamed) anyway I hope this thread and a few others I have on different forums catches the right persons eye I'd even give a small finders fee(like fifty bucks) for the right set.

thanks chuck, I have talked with them about some vector wheels in the past and they seemed alright so I might get some detailed info from them but I know they are expensive. Don't get me wrong theres nothing wrong with charging a premium but its out of the question for me.

I got 5 of the 16x7's off late '80s Lincoln LSCs'. Open the center register a 1/16" and they pop on just like they are factory. 2 rims have the Ford oval, but I am removing them before the rims get prepped (going w/ a magnesium color). The center caps have the LSC buttons in 'em, but the guys at a vinyls graphics place can make me replacements for them using an old Shelby CSX decklid emblem and shrinking 'em down. Little different, but the price is right and I can get more choices in rubber w/16"
