Hi FABO friends !!!
Here comes me and a very special story: a real close senior friend of ours has 86 years old and a whole life dedicated to the Chrysler of Brazil heritage.
He himself worked on a big dealer located in the southside of Rio Grande do Sul and was responsible for the final vehicle delivery. When Chrysler decided to close the running production he started to buy lots of Dodge stuff, including lots of parts and quite brand new vehicles that the customer's shop had.
One of these great brazilian A-body cars was a 1970 Dodge Dart Sedan, metallic green with a matching interior, bought back in 1977 with less than ten thousand miles on the clock, completely original, from head to toe.
This car was storaged in a dry garage back in 1985 and this year the owner's grandchild asked him to take her to the church in her wedding that finally happened last weekend.
We started to bring this green Dart back to life about two months ago...
Here are some interesting shots we did in this period:

After some struggle, we finally got the car outside the garage after 25 years:

We started the engine and had revised brakes & electric apparel, and finally came to the cosmetics, we put back the original wheel covers that were in the trunk:

The final cleaning touch in the trunk:

And the interior, completely original & clean:

Unecessarily to say how grateful we were in this afternoon...
Another classic & great A-body Dodge back to life !!!

Wow, that is awesome, what a rare find!! So did those covers go on the rallye rims over the center caps? Any pics of the engine? Very neat car, thanks for sharing!!

Wow beautiful car,I've always wanted to see your country,it looks so nice.

Wow, I didn't know that the 70 down there had the late 60's rear sheet metal!!!

Gorgeous car! Any engine bay photos?

Did the cars built down there have fender tags?

Cool car!!!! An original unrestored car is a look that you just can't recreate in a restoration, just the right amount of shine & luster....not over detailed but unscathed, etc... Pics look like they belong in the 1970 Dodge Dart brochure.

Good Luck, ZooKypr

Wow!!!....awesome!!.....I'd love to see a close-up of those rally gauges if possible. What an interesting interesting ride. I could spend 2 hours going over it from bumper to bumper!

*ahhh...I just noticed it's a 3-on-the-tree!*

Yes, the covers go on the rally wheels with a center cap locking the deal...
I have tons of pics on this Dart and a film showing her first start after all these years...I'll upload to YouTube and share with you, my friends !!
And of course I'll bring some photos of the engine bay too...It's as perfect as the rest of the car !

That's a great find, especially with the rally dash. That ramp is a great idea. Did you build it?

Cudadriver, this ramp was made by the car's owner back in the fifties when he uesd to make some maintenance on customer's cars...This gentle old man is a real fine mechanic & craftsman, his life history should make a great book too...
We had a special issue on our biggest collector classic car magazine edited here in Brazil, and I'll bring you some extra pics on his cars & history too !!!
Too cool not to be showing...
Thanks for the reply, my friend !!

I hope you're not offended by this, but I'm thoroughly in love with your car :) Nice car lift too!

BlueSwinger,

We ALL are in love with this great time capsule !!!
And believe it or not, it's not the only first generation Dart our friend has...He's got a very early production 1969 Dart, looks exactly the same, but the color is light blue metallic with the same blue interior...And another 1970 sedan, this one is beige with black interior !!!
Three 70 Darts, one 1971 Dart Coupé with extra dealer instaled accessories from the same era, and a 1976 brazilian Dodge Charger R/T, white on brown interior...
All these great Dodges are hibernating behind covers for decades !!!!
And soon we'll get all them back to the roads again, like this pristine 1970 green Dart !!
See ya, pal !!

Such a nice car! What engine?

Commando66, this car has the only engine option we could buy here in Brazil: a 318 V8 with the classic "three-on-the-tree" manual transmission. For this model year no power brakes, power steering or air conditioning was offered (they all could be dealer installed), and the stainless steel add-ons were a factory's luxury package.
At the end of 1970 Chrysler of Brazil offered the coupé bodyshell along with more factory options like automatic transmission, P/S,P/B, A/C and manual four speed trans with bucket seats on a special sport deluxe package dubbed "Charger" here...
These early production 1969/1970 cars are very rare to find, and our friend has got THREE of them in this perfect original shape !
Soon more pics for you, my friends !!!
See ya !!
