I got a 75 Valiant with a 225/904 and i have a 440 that i am putting in. Does any one know what oil pan, motor mounts, cross member, ect. to make this complete. were also on a budget like always, any help would make would really help, thanks!

Here's a bump for your questions for others input...

I will however, add the comments I mentioned in your friends post on your behalf over on FBBO on your swap;

I beleive a 187 pan will do the trick (if your 440 has a 971 pan currently it should work too). Schumacher has conversion mounts for /6 to RB. The 727 has the same mounting as the 904 so no change to the xmember. As the 727 is about 4" longer than the 904 the drive shaft will definately have to be shortened and the 727 uses a different yoke than the 904. If you currently have a 7.25 rear in the Valiant you should definately start looking for an upgrade. Headers can be $$$ as well.

Hope others will also add thier input as well

does his user name say FORD BLUE? are you sure you dont have a 427? hahahahaha

Good luck with your mouse the elephant swap

Thanks everyone i think this will help a lot but if anyone has any more input please post this is my first and im working with a big block chevy guy hahahahahahaha!

Go with the trans dapt mounts- the're about half the price of the Schumachers. I paid $525 for a set of Schu's headers though and they were uncoated- pricey yes but fit my 383 like a glove. I went with a 187 oil pan- fits great. Will have to shorten driveshaft about 3 inches or so- cost me $45 locally at a driveline shop.

StrokerScamp has some of the things needed at an awesome price too!

Including the 187 pan & Schumacher mounts /6 to BB

Yep!! PM StrokerScamp and make him some offers on his stuff, he is a great guy to deal with:cheers: He was about to do a very similar swap to you, except a 400 instead of a 440. I hope he chimes in to shed some light for you, he's an awesome dude!8)

I agree. Priced within reason too. I believe you can also use the B body HP manifolds on your swap as well. They worked great on my low deck swap. Better jump on it though.
For an even better fit StrokerScamp told me he was gonna use the passenger side manifold from the B-body set and then the C-body drivers side as it allows more clearance on the steering linkage:read2:

I really hope he chimes in. Oh and WELCOME TO FABO!!!:cheers:

i am interested in the mounts think i have a pan. im not ready for them yet.....if there still around then i will shoot u an offer....

Unless your car is going to be a strip car only you should consider a brake upgrade (if it is currently drums) and bigger torsion bars mandatory. A front sway bar and subframe connectors should also be high on the list.

I used the trans adapt kit they fit good and were pretty cheap in price I ordered them from heddman. Used a 187 oil pan from a c body 383.
