My Duster is currently in hibernation mode for the winter. But I decided to fire it up this afternoon and let it run for a few minutes. Once I got it going just a few seconds later I heard a loud noise. Not like a squeal though. Sort of hard to explain. I had my hand on the steering wheel and once the noise stopped the wheel twitched slightly. The noise last for about a second. While running if I turned the wheel it felt rather numb. Very similar to how my Daytona feels when shifiting after it's been sitting in single digit temps. I remember this happening last winter. But never in the warm months. Is the power steering fluid just cold from sitting? I haven't ran it since mid November. My garage isn't insulated so it gets very cold inside. I figured I would ask but seems to me the fulid is very cold from sitting and all the sudden now the pump is spinning.

Thanks for any input.

Sounds like low pressure. Time to get out the pressure gauge and test it
