Sounds Good. Please we will like to have a smooth deal with you, as we are using online transaction for the first time. I'm very busy with work and other important obligations, I will like to proceed with payment via Certified check and i will handle the pick up myself , I am in no rush with you as i will await bank clearance before we proceed further with pick up.The shipper will be there to handle the pickup of the item after the check clears at your bank. I will await your email with the following information so that I can send the check to you as soon as possible.

1) Full Name(2) Address and(3) Phone Number.
Get back to me asap.

Thanks.
Jeff

this message was remailed to you via: sale-ab9bn-2193029667@craigslist.org

Dear Terry,
I received your message now,and i want you to know that the Check has been sent. I've already made an arrangement with the Shippers who will come for the pick, as soon as you receive the Check and clear it.The amount on the Check is $1850, the reason why the Shipping cost is high is this; I have other house hold items like Whirlpool, Eden Pure Heater , Antique, Sofa and rest to be picked up.When you receive the Check, Deduct the Cost of your item and the difference will be made available for the shipper who will pick up the item .You & I will Schedule a time for pick-up so that i can Inform the Shipper for the pick-up as soon as your bank clears the check. Pls get back to me if this is clear.

Thanks.
Jeff

i havent heard anything from you in awhile now, was a check sent?
Thanks
Terry

im not so keen on the check part of 1850? im starting to think scam anyone else think the same?

doesnt anybody ever say i want it i'll be over with cash tonight?

Scam all day long...
Run like hell.

That is weird , to weird, thank you I would run away to, but yall know me I see a water puddle and step over it worried it might have some chite in it . why the heck would anyone do that :shaking:
Wait, I don't want to know

Wow, that just has "bad check" written all over it. If they time it right, your bank deposits the money in your account, his "shippers" pick up your grinder and the rest of the money before "his bank" bounces the check and leaves you holding the bag!

Are people so lame (no offence) that they still have to ASK about this kind 'o crap?

This is known generically as the "Nigerian Scam" and it has been going on now, since about when Whinehozed 95 came gasping and gagging upon the scene.

no offense taken as this was my 1st dealing with craigslist

so when the check does get here should i contact my local law agency and get them involved in this maybe catch the people comin here to get the item and the rest of there money

not everything on craigslist is a scam just most of it,
at least half, dont let that discourage you, just use common sense and caution

You can tell it is a scam just how it is written and the words chosen to describe the sale ect . I'd be a bit skeptical? Later dude :drinkers:

Do Not deposit that into your bank or cash it.....SCAM ....BIGG TIME :angry3:

the check is fake be more cautious who you give your name and address to in the future

Yep, classic scam, not only craigslist, but cars.com, ebay, you name it. My rule is if you can't pick it up yourself with cash, then you don't get it.

Absolutley its a scam - run the other way - fast. That kind of BS really sucks for legitimate buyer/sellers trying to do an honest deal.

If you received a check I would find out who to turn it into to have it tracked. Possibly the IRS would be interested in it. They have all kinds of investigations teams. Give em a call and have them check it out for you. Usually when someone has really weird grammar combined with the words "the item" like for example "is the item we discussed still available?" that tells you its whacko.

Its definitely a scam, but I wouldnt be too worried about it. If it was me, I would taunt the hell out of the Nigerian scammin sob. Make a game of it, then fwd the check onto the authorities.

A friend got 3 of those types of checks. She took them to one of those check cashing places, who promptly told her they were bogus.
I had to explain to her 3 times that it was a gigantic scam. I'm still not sure she gets it.
