I feel your pain!
A friend of mine made me a tool to remove those bushings after I showed him the picture of tool in service manual!
They came right out!

Before you do that, have you tried burning out the bushing, then cutting the sleeve, fold it in on itself.

At the time it seemed crazy, but that's exactly how I did it last time
and I had the old one's out in no time.

I have the same tool, and it worked like a charm on one side of the arm. The side with the sleeve almost broke all the threads on the tool when i used an impact gun on it. I am pretty sure the suspension has never been replaced by previous owners.

that tool is simple and works well for a lot of thing thats the tool thats used to replace nushing in the rear of my dump truck i made 1 for my control arm bushing when i replaced them ..cheap and works and come in handy for alot of things mike:lol:

But then i found a cheaper, lightweight solution to this age-old problem:

Can you make me a set also???

Looks like somebody is repopping the upper control arms. I had no idea....

> $129 ea Is what the ad say's.

it says "PART NAME : CONTROL ARM PAIR With Ball Joint K704
Bushing K408" too so i'm beginning to wonder which it is. And the photo has two also so maybe it means $129 a set since there are 2 in stock.

I emailed them:

Yes, These Ref fit for 1966 Barracuda, we have the items in stock right now and we sell them in kit, one right and one left side.

Thank you

So a Moog Upper Ball Joint k704 costs $49 on Amazon and a Moog bushing kit costs $26.

$49x2 + $26=$124

For someone like me with a seriously rusted out suspension, a nagging wife, and limited time to wrench $5 is a no-brainer.

Def a good price on those, but I'd want to inspect those control arms before use. esp if made in china

Yes it can! I dont trust anything made in China. Thier mettalurgy is very suspect, and in spite of new factories they will still find a way to cut corners.

I turned down a brand new master for my Dart made in China. I have had negative experiences with new rotors/drums for my 00 Caravan. The drums warped instantly and I have lost some braking power as well. I dont know what they do to the metal/parts,something that makes it cheaper to produce I suspect.

In short when buying Chinese, buyer beware!!

I have those control arms. They are made in Mexico, they seem to be good quality. The ball joints are good but my bushings are squeaking after less than 10,000 miles.

buying those arms was a no-brainer for my disk brake conversion because it was cheaper (even if I have to pay for another set of bushings) than starting with used arms. I will use the offset bushings to get more caster anyway.

So, did you get a set? I'm confussed...The Ebay add list these a-arms as fitting A,B,M/etc. bodies. I thought the a-arm on an A body was unique. Do you clarify what body you have at order-entry time or ?

Look at all of SPC arms for Chrysler. Some are expensive but they don't crack and break later on. I would not be surprise is SPC is from China. What can U do, bicycles that cost $1,000 to $4,000 are from China..good stuff too.

China machining isn't always good. Drums/rotors need to be check and re-machined. Most of the higher end crankshafts from China are machined true here in the USA before they are sold.

Control arms I would not buy off ebay unless its a name brand part. I trust summit or jegs long before any joe blow on ebay

Rusty control arms are junk, throw them away. One hard brake it can crack. Control arms take much stress, if you look at these new sports cars they are all tubular..not sure about the new charger.
