What to use for undercoating?

I've fully media blasted and epoxy primed my Duster and I'm getting close to finishing the metal work, subframe connectors, relocation boxes and minitubs and I want to undercoat the car with something. I've been looking at Eastwood and I'm liking the Eastwood Black Undercoating. Looks tough and can be washed down if it ever gets dirty...

Anyone have any suggestions?

Anything to steer clear of?

I believe i am using a product called Zero rust. Similar to POR 15, but a bit easy to get in our neck of the woods.

I found with Eastwood you pay out the ying yang to get the same product somewhere else.
 
I have a gallon of POR 15 but the black undercoating is in aerosol cans and it's got a UV protector in it. Also it says the black undercoat product can be painted over. Not so with POR 15.

i used truck bed liner coating on the inside of my car. real tough stuff. and easy to apply. it was around 100 bucks for the kit. it comes with the gun to spray it. it s called raptor-something or other.(i can look at the box if u r interested). i only used half of the kit. i still have the other half for wheel wells, and other stuff. best undercoat style material i ve ever used. you gotta watch some undercoats/ they might say black but some are a brownish color and look like poop. 3M also makes a nice undercoat too.
 
Next time I talk to my body guy, if I can remember, I will ask him what he uses....

Excellent stuff. As you know a Mopar (properly done) has the same color undercarriage as the paint color. Here's a link to the site for U-Pol Raptor Liner.

I recommend the tint-able one to match your paint color. It is very durable and chip resistant and also does a hell of a job as a sound deadener.
 
Not really… It's more like factory rust proofing with body color overspray.

But I may be misinterpreting your "properly" with "correctly".


Anyway…….. Eastwood is best for separating a fool and his money. (They are good for those hard to find items).


SEM, M3, Truck bed liner……. All local options at a fraction of Eastwoods cost.
 
I used Herculiner and sprayed it on inside and out of my floor panels. I also used it on the inner panels as a protectant. It worked great. Just buy a cheap undercoating sprayer. You can thin it a little with lacquer if you want a smoother finish. Look at my pics of the car upside down and sprayed.

I'm using the raptor bed liner as well. We've used it numerous times at the body shop I work at. It looks great and has a fantasic uniform texture.
 
but look into "lizard skin", they do a ceramic/heat version, and a sound version too... I may try it out on mine as a sound deadener... Havent decided yet.
