Kinda a odd one that no one seems to be able to figure out.Cast aluminum top and bottom with the short neck for a 440. Trades.

My want list is:Nice 70 RR trunk lid.742 or 489 suregrip with 391 or 410s.Front and rear 70 RR bumpers.70 B body bench seat with headrests

All I know is that it looks factory & it's cast aluminum. I have NEVER seen or heard of such a thing before. Maybe a factory prototype? One of one?
 
Cast...... As in the entire thing was machined? I doubt that. Looks more like it was stamped (like the steel ones).
I know the difference between cast and stamped.I assure you it is CAST ALUMINUM!!!!! If your in the area feel free to come take a look.A few more pics to you naysayers for your viewing pleasure.

I bet it is a factory trick piece, painted to look like stock and then raced in a stock class...my 2 cents.

Or someone carefully made a mold of an original and copied it.
 
Damn, that is cast. Smart move taking it off the market. That could be worth a fortune.

Should have posted those interior pics first. They answer all questions and remove all doubt.
 
No,still a mystery of it origins.I just cant fathom someone going to all the trouble to make something like this in their garage.What would be the point when at the time it was made the originals were still everywhere.If it were a Mr Gasket i would think there would have been more than one made?
