Hello all. The platform is a 1969 Dodge Dart no frills no power anything original radio and a/c delete car. I have completed all SS/Hurst mods including rear fender openings, inboard spring perches, 69-68 fender mods to allow use of 1968 grill and headlight bezels, subframe connectors, etc.. Originally purchased in Texas and later in Arizona where it sat for the better part of 25+ years. I started this project about a year ago and it's getting expensive now :). The color is curious yellow and will sport a black bumble bee stripe soon. Attached are some pics of what I started with, some of the minor rust issues, and disassembly progression.

More pics of progress up to and including final prime. I have prefit and adjusted all panes and dry blocked 3x at this point to get everything just right.

Looking good! Should look stunning as yellow with the bumblebee stripe. I want mine the opposite, black with a school bus yellow bee stripe...call her the black panther...oh yeaaahhh lol

Did you use templates for those wheel well cut outs? Mind selling them to me? I could use em!

Hello,
I used my dad's templates made from sheet metal and taken directly from an original LO88 car (Factory original Hurst built car from 1968) He (Greg Fernald) may sell templates to you. You can find his contact information on his website at www.ssandafx.com :).

More pictures of 69 to 68 SS project into curious yellow. These pictures show a lot greener than it looks in person. I was going to go with arancio borealis orange by PPG for Lamborghini and changed to this unique (curious) yellow as a lot of people are going orange on their show cars and want something a little different and more factory. More pics to follow these as I have color sanded since these and buffed the entire car and am starting assembly. Stay tuned.

That really looks great. Keep posting your progress photos; looking forward (as I'm sure you are as well) to seeing this take shape.

Wow! Thanks for the encouraging thoughts everyone :). Fresh pics are attached of completed front suspension restoration including rebuilt manual steering box with 20:1 worm gear assembly, PST graphite urethane bushings, new everything including Wilwood 4 piston dynalite brakes with race length ARP screw in wheel studs, 340 torsion rods , replated hardware, etc. Rear end is SS spec, narrowed 8 3/4 with rebuilt (all new except for backing plates and parking brake levers and spanners) 11x 2 1/2" drums. The rear end will pack narrowed Yukon axles (already own and narrowed) with race length wheel studs, 4:30 gears and sure trac posi. Installed are correct, new 002/003 SS springs and new retaining hardware. Just purchased line loc, master cylinder and am soon to purchase new pre-bent brake lines. This restoration is being completed as I can afford financially as I do not want to rack up credit card debt, so it won't be done real quick. The powerplant will be a very well built 440. The period hemi's aren't exactly cheap.

Great work! Looking really good!!
I've admired your dad's work and the cars that come from SS & A/FX for awhile now and your pics show you're right there with him.
Anxious to see the finished product.

Thanks ocdart :) Dad (Greg) has always been a great teacher and influence to me. I'm honored that you would compare my work with his. The man is an absolute master!
