Some missing parts needed on a 67 Dart GT Convertible

Hi, folks !!

I need a help & some advice on where I could find some trim parts missing on a friend's new buy: a 1967 Dart GT convertible...
He needs the inox trim moulding that are fixed down the windshield, near the wipers, here's a picture where you can see the missing one:

The other stolen trim molding was at the rear, here's a shot where we see the missing part, on the left side:

He also needs the original seat & door covers, the carpet kit and the door armrest, both sides.

The car is located in Miami, but he can buy the parts online with shipping to the car's placing...
Any help finding these parts are very appreciated !!

Nice car.......loks just like mine.I'm sorry I won't be much help,but I know it would be a whole lot easier to put 68 window trim on than finding the original.I'm having a hard time finding that same peice.

Is the 68 window trim too much different than the original one ??
Where we could find this one ??

The 68 trim is only one piece and you would have to use/install the clips in the window channel with the windshield out I believe.I don't really know because I'm still holding out for the 67 trim.Who knows I may never find it.I do know it is easier to find 68 trim out there,might even find someone on here that has one.

I may be wrong, but I think this is true for hardtops but not convertibles. I think all '67-'69 Dart/Barracuda convertibles had the vinyl lower trim. I am enclosing a pic of a '68 Dart 'vert I have parted out. As you can see it has the vinyl lower trim like a '67 and the trim has shrank and drawed up until it is about 3" too short. The other side is the same. You can also see that it fits in a groove in the rubber seal similar to a 'lockstrip' used on various other vehicles. The other 3 sides of the rubber seal don't have the groove like the lower side does. ('67 hardtops do, they used the vinyl trim on all 4 sides of the windshield with a metal piece at each corner.) I have seen threads on this board concerning this before. Someone is selling the vinyl piece like you need. If I find the thread I will post it.
You might have your friend contact Dante's Mopar Parts. Dante would be a good source for all the interior parts your friend needs (he is a Legendary dealer) and might be able to help with the windshield molding also.

The plastic locking insert is common to all a-body convertibles. The gasket may leak without that lockstrip in place. I think Laysons Restorations has theat piece and the rear arm rest pads which are also convertible only pieces.
 
I have a 69 Dart convertible that uses the stainless steel lower windshield trim. This piece of trim was missing when I bought the car, but the trim clips were there already. The gasket is similar to the 69 hardtop I used to own; not the kind that uses a lockstrip.
What I ended up doing was using the lower trim piece from a hardtop. The part was exactly the same as what was needed for my convert, but it was about 3" too long. I simply cut 1-1/2" off each end, and it fit perfectly.

Now, looking at Mobodyman's picture, it does appear that both styles were used. Possibly depending on assembly plant, and model year running changes? Just a guess. Maybe early 68 verts used the same lower trim as 67 cars until the supply ran out, then the stainless piece was used.
I suppose a lot of things could have changed on these cars since they were built, so who knows for sure.

Nope. If you have a stainless trim at the bottom of a vert windshield it was put there by someone other than the factory.

Never say never, but like I said in my earlier post, a lot can happen in 40-45 years!

I'll tell ya what, if anyone with a 67 hardtop or 67-69 vert has trouble finding the plastic chrome lock strip, this conversion is very easy to do, with parts that are readily available....providing your not doing a numbers resto, that is.
The original gasket would have to be replaced by a 68+ hardtop one, the clips would have to be installed across the bottom of the windshield only, and a lower stainless strip from a 68+ hardtop would be needed.
Install the clips, install the gasket and windshield, cut the stainless strip 1-1/2" on either side, and put it all together.

There are other differences in the hardtop windshield gasket also. Trimming will make it work providing you have the vert gasket to go by.
