Have you seen it? I love the black chrome front bumper and grill..If I had the money, id buy it the moment it came out. 6.4L hemi with 470hp and 470lbs of torque. 1/4 mile in the mid 12's... Some may hate it because its a 4-door, but I think it has the best looks than any other car out there. For what you pay and what you get, american makes are on top right now. To get a BMW with the same performance, features/materials youd have to pay almost double the Chargers price tag.

I agree 100% That is one bad *** mamajama!! If I had the meens I would buy one in a heartbeat. I can already hear it now "if it wasn't a four door". Give it up guys, it is what it is.

$52,000 MSRP LOADED UP...I like it...1/4 mile times are 12.8 - 12.9 range..pretty good for a 4350 lb car..

Love the car overall, but don't like the big black front end. It's gonna look like a largemouth bass in your rearview mirror.
I can't afford one anyway, but if I could then I could also afford to get the bumper painted body color.

The R/T doesnt have the black face at all. Just a chrome or blacked out grill of choice. and its about 10-15,000 cheaper

Too bad all the Hemi's on the road aren't 6.4 motors--you know.

There are a FEW nice brand new cars being made still, problem is its only a very few. And they even call the car a different name so you can not legally convert a 5.7 car over to it.

No disrespect to anyone who has opined on this thread, but that front end - nose is horrid.

Also, think about this - this car weighs as much as a C body Chrysler Imperial from back in the day!

Power to weight ratio says - running the 1/4 mile calculators - say perhaps low 13s and 110 MPH.

Look out for lack of fuel economy if you daily drive this in a urban setting, like a big city. It will not do any better than the current large Chrysler cars which is in the 12-15 MPG range, when driven under 50 MPH...they do better in overdrive on the highway, so if all you do is 55+ MPH in your commuting, you'll be upper teens/low 20s MPG overall when you fill up (ignore the phoney trip computer readout - divide the miles by the gallons you pump into the tank when you fill it.

Interior is a big step up over past efforts.

Road and track this month tested the car and runs 12.8 or 12.9, I read the article. Now, it might be a different magazine, but I think it was road and track?

yeah and what is it going to REALLY run after its been on the road for 3 years and has 30,000 miles on it. Seems to me these newer cars slow way down as they age.

I agree, 4,300 lbs is pushing it, you need to slow down and stop also. Why can Mopar get cars with a V8's like the Corvette @ 3,200 lbs

Id like to see Ford's and GM's answer to it. Competition is tough.
GM's answer is the Cadillac CTS-V, plus the talk around the block is that GM is going to bring back the G8 as a Caprice with more power.

Actually.....Gm's answer is the new Camaro coming out with the Cadillac top engine. Suppose to make 500+ hp or something like that.

Yeah but think how bad the Challenger could have been done, is it getting the 6.4 engine also?
Yep, all srt8 vehicles now built will have the 6.4 "392" hemi. I have seen about three or four new 392 challengers here in phoenix cruising the streets.

Both the CTS-V and the Camaro top engine is a detuned version of the ZR1 Corvette engine (638HP). Also to point this out the Charger doesn't compete with the Camaro (one is a 4 door the other a 2 door). The Camaro competes with the Challenger (both 2 doors) and the Charger competes with the CTS-V (both have 4 doors), as well as the G8 (which is to come back as the Caprice and with more power) even though they are no longer made.

that abortion looks like a Mitsubishi lancer.

agree it does kinda look like the lancer, but i like the look of the lancer too so ya know. however i do not like the door "grooves" i guess you would call them? but the 392 hemi is supposed to be a beast, seen a couple of the challengers around with that engine and they sound great too.
