If anything I was going to have something like you have where members can sign around it. I really like your idea. RedFish lives close to me so he would more than likely be the first to sign it. There are a few that live in GA but its a good ride from there (friends that helped to build the ramp for Bruce). Anyways I will have something dedicated to FABO eventually.
 
Well everyone I'm just flat speechless!

A member or members has offered to let 2Darts make me a FABO sticker for my Christmas present this year!!!!
 
Wow, not sure how I have missed this thread but just spent the morning looking at all 10 pages. You have been doing an awsome job. If I may suggest, if you plan on useing your air compressue to do lots of sanding get a bigger compressure. nothing worse that having to stpo while your compressor has to build more pressure and will need to cool down as to not burn it up. http://www.ruralking.com/tools/6-hp-60-gal-air-compressor.html this is the 1 i have, after burning up 2 smaller ones. It is a 220 thou.
Put it in a corner, build a 2"x2" frame around it and then get 2" foam installation board on the sides and leave the top open to vent and get air. this will cut down on the noise. It should only take up a 2' sq.
Of course this is only a suggestion. Again you are doing an awsome job.
 
I dont for see doing much body work to justify a large compressor but you know how it is... thats subject to change. However I have a plan but not really sure if it will work. Hopefully I can explain it without losing you.

My existing garage which is attached to the house will now be mostly empty. I have in mind to run ¾ pipe from the back corner of the existing garage, under the house , and out near the septic tank. Now when I get the septic line dug for the shops toilet and sink I will then run the ¾ pipe to the shop and tie it into the shop. This will
a) Have the compressor located in a dry, theft proof, area (better than having it on the backside of the shop because everyone know what those little out houses are on the back of the shops).
b) Will not have to listen to the compressor run
c) The wiring will be connected to the main panel of the house. Not the sub panel of the shop.

The only concern I have is the length of the air line pipe. It will be around 100’ long. I would assume going to a 1” pipe would be better is my thinking. What do you think?

Took a few pictures. Garage door is up, PTAC is installed and working great. I made a make shift filter for it to keep the dust out of the unit... hopefully. Dont really want to put the cover on because I don't want paint spatter on it because I know who the painter is going to do the work... me. The temperature hasn't dropped down in the real cold digits yet but the unit does not run much at all. I hope that's a sign of the good R-value of the shop. Installed a peep hole in the entrance door.... might should have installed a door bell. lol Installed the outlet plates and switch plates temporally to pass inspection. Mainly because I'm shooting for the final inspection. Cased out the disappearing stairway and dropped a piece of sheet rock in the hole to keep the heat in. I just can't justify a $400 something dollar stairway when I will not use it much. Maybe later.

2darts sent me a picture of what the FABO sticker will look like at is very nice looking! I'm excited about the sticker!

My camera doesn't do well at all without a lot of light.
Yeah it is slowly coming down to the end. I thought it was going to take much longer to build it but it came around pretty quickly. Still have a little bit of work to do however. The fellow my friend is borrowing the aluminum break from had some fairly upsetting family problems last week and my friend didn't want to go to his house to get the break. The guys wife is off her meds and is on the war path. Her husband hasn't been staying at home with her and I've been told that you don't want to be around her in which the break is there at their house. I understand.... I really don't want to rent one for $77 a day and have to be in a hurray. I can wait.
 
I just finished printing, it will look VERY GOOD in that garage of yours..., Steve keep an eye open for the post man. Santa will be good to you also!!!! bahahaahhaha
 
I received the "FOR A-BODIES ONLY" decal today from 2Darts!!!

It is one beautiful piece of work!!

I am not going to show it until I get it up on the wall and completed. I don't think I will anyways.... I can't stand it! I really want to get it hung up completed so it will do it the justice it deserves. It is really that nice!

If it makes you feel any better I just got back with $337 worth of paint! lol

Tell you the truth I would rather get the outside done first but having a hard time finding a aluminum break. My friend was suppose to have got one for me this weekend but it didn't happen. Touchy subject right now if you get what I mean. :banghead:

Anyways I thought I might as well start painting but after the FABO decal got delivered yesterday .... its on!!!

I've noticed a few places the sheetrock finishers didn't do a good job or I'm just seeing things. I want to get one coat of drywall primer on and put a light on it. This way all the imperfections will stand out and will be marked so the sheetrock man can repair. Then it will take awhile for them to get done. I'm trying!
 
Man I'm envious Marland.. a nice, big shop so you can blast, and sand, and grind, and paint.. and you're looking at a couple of mudding imperfections rofl. I dont even think I could wait to mud it before moving in!

Well I did move the motorcycle in there today and parked it. So technically it is in use... don't tell the inspector that however. lol

Of course when I start painting the bike will go back to its original spot which is "in the way!"
 
Thank goodness!!!

I finally was able to borrow a aluminum break. I got all the fascia covered today, garage door entrance is wrapped, and I'm working on wrapping entrance door. Starting to look for a decent price on gutters now. The bad part about it I was supposed to be at work today but we didn't have anything to do. Maybe we'll be back at it Monday.

I got the FABO decal laying flat as instructed by 2Darts. lol

Mullinax, that place is freakin awesome bud! I could spend the entire winter in there workin on a car & have it ready to rip come spring!
