Hi all. I'm Danny. I've been a member for a couple of months and am just now got around to introduce myself. Huge fan of FABO and have had valuable information from members, especially Cliff Guinand, help my quest to find out more about my Canadian only 1972 Dart Swinger 340 Special. Picture this, I'm sixteen its 1978 and I've got a 340 car and am pulling up to my High school, it doesn't get much cooler. We had lots of fun back in those days. From what I have found out from you all there are very few of these cars left and I would encourage everyone to keep there eyes peeled for any survivors especially up here in Canada. Mine has been sitting on stands in my garage since the mid 80's. Needs some easy restoration since back in the day we had to mess around and put on some Smoky Lake Speed Equipment. Needs to go back to the Hemi Orange from the Black that in currently is. Has 54000 miles on the body and a new 340 stock bore, still have the original block but its been bored might need sleeves. Since I have been checking out all the great cars you all have I'm getting a lot more motivated to redue mine.

Cheers

welcome - always wanted one of those - just the idea of the Canada only production is just way cool

Well hello and welcome EH! Great to have you aboard, Nice looking ride..Whats your first step towards the car?

I've been holding off hoping to build myself a new garage more suited to do a mostly complete tear down, my interior is in great shape so its mostly to strip the paint down to bare metal and repaint, pull the engine and put back to a stock look and paint the engine bay. Drop out the front end and replace all the joints. Might put it on a rotisserie so I can do the bottom up right.

Sounds like a saweet plan to me. Keep us posted..BTW we all need a bigger garage..Dont we..:burnout:

I couldn't agree more Ma Snart, by the way that's a sweet and stout looking Cuda you've got!

with it being black,a nd shining like that, i would leave the paint for now,a nd drive it!

Unfortunately it's a bit of an 80s time machine with some of the stuff we did back then. After finding out from member Cliff Guinand, to my surprise, that this car is one of 75 or less built in 1972 for Canada only and one of two known to exist upgraded models from Pembina Motors I can't help but think it deserves a proper restoration. And hell I've been a Autobody Mechanic for 30 years and have been painting everybody else's cars I should finally do my own. I appreciate the sentiment thou that this car needs to get back out on the road.
