I'm not feeling all warm and fuzzy but, did I install this flexplate correctly?
:prayer:

B&M has spoken:
Brad,
Yeah that is definitely on backwards.

Not getting any sleep last night paid off. Easy fix at this time. Thanks guys :prayer:

The flex plate should be marked, "Engine side".

Don't understand. According to your photos it IS correct as pictured

The flex plate should be marked, "Engine side".

Bill S.

Yup. I have an early plate, the kind with a weight instead of a cutout. clearly stamped.

You can only install all 6 bolts when it is on correct because the bolts are offset. Therefore it is not possible to install it backwards.

I was wondering that as well because I tried it both ways. No there was not any stamp or marking stating "front" or "engine" side. Maybe B&M's tech rep is smoking Draino or something. :wack: will continue my research......

You have it installed correctly.

I have one sitting in front of me, engine side marking on mine would install it as yours pictured.

LOL, so much for B&M's tech support, You got it on right, as already stated, you won't be able to get all the bolts in if it were on backwards

i hope before you installed it you layed the converter on it and marked it for the offset bolts...

News Flash! I drove over to http://www.mopacautosupply.com/index.html yesterday and talked with Chris Lunn, resedent Mopar expert that has a 69 Dart, LA 360, 727. Turns out my flexplate is on correct but, it is the wrong P/N flexplate. The one in my picture is for a externaly balanced engine. See the cut out. My engine is internal balanced and the flexplate has no cut out. The correct flexplate is stamped "Engine Side" as well. Looks like I have to change it out any way. FYI

......yes. both flex plates are stamped "Engine Side". I was a good thing I checked......I had the wrong flex plate installed correctly......:eek:ops:
FYI

The flexplate I got along with my stroker looked like that one but had a SFI sticker on it. Somebody made a piece of steel that would fit the cutout and welded it in, then drilled out 2 holes in the welded in piece, presumably to balance it. My engine is internally balanced and after several bounces off the 7000 pill still no issues. No vibration either.

When we were bolting on the converter it took 4 tries before all the bolts would line up. Guess I started at B and went B - C - D - A before we got it right. I'll mark it next time.

Wow! Welding a flex plate is gutsy...I had the same issue with the flexplate the second time around but, I checked it on the converter first and marked. I must of got it right on the first install. Some luck...lol. Me 2 lesson learned.
