Sell You My 1971 Plymouth Duster For $28,000

Looks like a hemi pro stocker to me. Roll bars & race seats. Big tires. 11 second car for sure, maybe faster? Still, thats a LOT of money for the car.

If it is competetive it is a lot quicker than 11 seconds....

It's an original BO29 68 Hemi Barracuda, thats why it sold for so much.
wow, i must be sleeping to much. i didnt realize modified original 68 SS cars were going for that much. i would expect 100,000 but not 167,000. maybe if i just keep saving....ya,right

i do get out and search a bit around here.but the way things are looking, they have been pretty much gobbled up by these guys that do nothing but drag trailers around all day with a pocket full of cash, sneaking on properties looking for these gems. not that im hating, but just saying it must be nice and well worth it when they find the score of the day, an original 69 charger R/T, unmolested 12,000 mile original survivor, that hits craigslist or ebay with an 89,000 dollar price tag, yes it needs trunk and floorpans, and the 440 is locked up and rats made a nest out of the console, but hey,it has the original spark plugs and paint, a true time capsule. i wish like hell i could come across something like that, yes,we can all dream lol

Well,
there were only like 50 of these cars built and 50 Darts. Should have went for a lot more!

Since the thread is about the selling price of an SS car, I thought I would see what members think of this story. I always thought this car was an urban myth. It was suppose to be in a barn, but no one would confirm or deny it's existence. Still no photos of it other than the early days. I was told it left track duty very, very young. The quote below is someone who knows more than most about it. The photo link is to Rob Potters fotki page.

Over the course of 30+ years he has been collecting parts and pieces to put it back to the way it was. This car is probably the only Hurst car that didnt get chopped up for pro stock or super stock. It was never tubbed, never got a cage welded into it....it still has a mint Mr Gasket chrome bolt in bar. The car is still in tact...paint is actually still nice. Im trying to get the owner to allow me to take some pics but hes a little worried about theft. He has been offered a crazy amount of cash....even from Ma Mopar and its still not for sale. Walking into the one car garage with 2 60 amp lights on the car makes the hair on my arms stand straight up and down...its so real it makes me sick to my stomache. The sad thing is he's gonna die and the car will be left to one of his family members that will sell it to someone else that only has intentions of making 20k on it....you know how that goes. I would love nothing more than to restore it back to Modified Production fame. Cool car....and no this isnt an Urban Legend...seen it with my own eyes. I was one of the luckey ones that got to see it because the owner was close friends with my father. The car was actually his barn for years and I vividly remember him and my father pulling it out of the barn with the tractor and pulling it into the garage when it is now. I was told that when he bought it...he took it to a local grocery store parking lot...did a burnout....lanched it and then put it away in the barn. He never raced it. Ill keep working on him for some pics....i promised rob potter that I would work on him for a photo shoot.

I actually have the 1980 Auto Trader with the car for sale in it...12,900

I met Marvin once a long time ago , nice guy, really nice cars.

He is a genuine MOPAR nut. And I still can remember the 1st time I walked into his shop and saw 7 Hemi's on stands, ready to go. That was back in 78 or 79.
