So after Dad telling me he is thinking about selling his truck, he gave me the go-ahead to post it on here. He isnt selling for any other reason then he is 67 years old and would like to drive something else. Both he and I love the truck and it is completely bone stock except for the rims, bench seat being recovered and aftermarket power steering. He had the power steering installed as he had open heart surgery and he wanted something easier than the "armstrong" steering. He went to a wood mill and had new wood cut for the bed and it looks gorgeous. Truck has the orig straight 6, original 4speed tranny. All the gauges work and the truck needs nothing. When his mechanic installed the power steering kit dad had an original pwr steering pump rebuilt as there is no repops for these. Same goes for the control valve, no repops. He bought a kit and there were issues with it, but those problems got solved and the power steering works amazing. He had new king pins installed when the pwr steering was put in last year. He also has extras that may go with the truck if a deal is made. The extras are factory rims, an extra rust free hood, and an extra gas tank. He also has some of the chrome trim/spears that run down the side of the box. They are not complete but the pieces he has are in mint shape. He asked for me to handle this, and if someone is serious than pass info on to him. I do have more pics of the truck, and will post them when I find them. He is open to trades as well as straight up selling. Outright price is $17500 and in my opinion is worth every penny. Apaches' are gorgeous and hard to find, plus its a fleetside AND a long box. He actually let me drive it once.....off the trailer when we got it home....other than that, thats the only time:wack:
Thanks for looking

Nice truck the bed is very nice and 1958 is a rairity in this condition, how ever long beds [where im at in florida] are not as desirable as shortbeds plus it is a six banger [even tho all origanal]. Very nice looking truck good luck with the sale/trade.

Thanks Lou! Dad was considering putting in a V8, but wasnt sure whether he wanted to get into suspension and brake upgrades as well. I would imagine you could do the 283 implant without too much difficulty! There is also a date correct(I believe) spare 6cyl to go with it...if the price is right. In all honesty Dad loves it, but he loves any type of wheels, thats where my addiction comes from. I would love to see dad in a Mopar!!

Glad he got the P/S worked out. I had been wondering about that. Sorry to see him sell. What a beautiful old truck. Here's you another bump. I hope yall get it. ~Rob

Yep got it all straightened out Rob, thanks for the offer of checking his pump out too! What he ended up doing was sending it to a rebuilder in San Fran, he shoulda done that at the beginning, but he wanted to know for fricking sure that everything was done!! It turned out that the cylinder and the valve were screwed. Valve was original but supposed to be rebuilt...ya right! Then the cylinder(new) was only good for a door stopper! Anyway he has been thinking for a while now, he loves it but as do most, they would like to have driven a different variety of cool/muscle cars/trucks. We will see what happens.....I already give him the heads up on 2 sweet ones on here for sale. Would love to see him enjoy something mopar for a few years, then trade it if he wants......

Ok, got more pics! Dropped by for coffee with dad tonight, and a Mopar is on his wish list!! I forgot to mention that the interior steel...dash..doors were professionally and recently painted. Has the orig floor/pedal starter. As I said this truck needs nothing, just an arse in the seat.

4spdragtop that is one beautiful truck the interior is wonderful and the engine bay is clean, very nice good luck somebodys gonna get a nice truck.

Thanks guys! I love cruising with dad in it, TONS of looks...the stepsides are more common than these. Fleetside longboxes are like hens teeth...up here anyway!

4spd- that is a nice truck, longbed or not it is still unusual to see, and I like seeing any of the vintage stuff.

Thanks guys. I would love to help dad get something that he can enjoy and trade/sell in a couple years. I dont care what it is as long as he is happy with it and a turn key vehicle.

Lori and I had a coffee with dad today, I showed him pics of an a body today, and I think I got him leaning towards Ma Mopar, but still hunting, dad doesnt want a "project" but doesnt mind tinkering. Being pretty vague here, he is pretty focused on a V8 and 2 doors though...

I'm 18 and broke. But I will sell my first born to your dad if he's willing to wait just a longer. :D
