Dart front tire sizes

I need to get new tires for the front of my 68 Dart. I want to go with a 70 series tire and I am pretty sure a 215/70/14 will fit (currently have 205/60/14) but I would like to know if a 225/70/14 will fit without any rubbing issues. Does anyone here know if that size tire will work or will I have to go with the 215s?

215's tires are 25.9" in dia., 225 tires are 26.5". It will be very very close with the 225 tire depending on wheel offset. I think I would go 215. The tread width is the same for both the 215 and 225 (6.7")

I have 225/70/14 on 14x6 cragers on all corners. they fit but they do have a couple of places that are issues. Rears are real close and we trimmed the wheel well lip before painting the car.

If changing them again I would go with 215/70/14

i ran 225/70/14's on all 4 on my 68 dart... it rubbed the inner fender braces (the one from the top of the arch to inner fender) but probably becasue i set mine up 1/2" off the lower bump stop lol...

and you can get alot more than a 215/60 on the rear... was running 245/60/14's with no issues and 235/70/15's no issues... a 255/60-15 would be about the max

My 225/70/14 rub a little on the inner fender

Car sits close to stock height, have 340 with big block torsion bars, large front sway bar

if you get the right offset wheel, and a short 60 series tire you might be able to go to a 15

a lot of guys run bigger tire combo than me, overall height is important

I had 215-70-14s on my 71, They fit nicely

I went with a 195/65/15 It has a 25 inch diameter. Fits great on my 67.

we run 6.70-15's on the dart... like 28" tall...

need to radius the front of the fender about a 1/2" though...
