i bought this a little while ago. i dont need it so its going to someone. this was taken out of a 68 barracuda and put in a box in a HEATED garage and forgot about for 30 years. i know the going price for these are around 800.00. ive seen them sell for that and they had the chrome lifting on the knobs and the face scratched to h#LL. it looks like they used them for 44 years. this one on the other hand is as close to n.o.s. as your going to find. the face is clear as a crystal. the bottons have no lifting or any pitting of any kind. i bench tested the radio and it plays am and fm beautifully throughout the bands. all knobs work like they should. the model # is 398 and the part # is 2864890, see pics. this radio is for a top notch restoration and is ready to install. the plugs are not cut. like i said before this is a once in a lifetime chance to buy nicely reserved am-fm thumbwheel radio. if you dont like my price you can keep looking.(good luck finding one this nice). and i dont need some lowlife running me down for what im asking for it either. sorry to sound like a dick but you know how it is sometimes. im in central pa and i will ship this radio anywhere on your coin. i will send more pics of anything if you are seriously interested. asking price is 1000.00 firm. for one week and then it goes to ebay for the same buy it now price.i also accept paypal. thanks, mike.

Just curious were all the thumb wheel radios the same for any given year(did all 68's use the same ones,Dodge Plymouth Chrysler)?

Chrysler in 68 had a pointed face on it, The plymouth said plymouth behind the lense and the dodge said dodge or dart
B body radio's where different than a body's.

Thats a nice radio-and a good price.Good Luck on the sale

This radio is correct for 68-69 Barracuda's only because of the tab on the upper left side of the radio. A dart radio is different as it does not have the tab. It will work with all 68-70 ralley dash, just not correct for Dodge cars as i believe it says Plymouth on it. My Am Fm like this one does anyway.

so is this radio a B body or A body??

Is it only barracuda radio that is alot of money if so I gave my 68 thumb wheel radio away out of my Dart for 75.00 last year at the fall fling

AM/FM Thumb Wheel.

A standard AM thumb wheel isn't worth much. If you sold an AM for $75, you did "OK", if you sold an AM/FM for $75, you hosed yourself.

This is from a 68 barracuda. It is correct for 69 also. A body barracuda only.this radio was used for 2 years only. Please do your homework before you buy this. Make sure it will be correct for your car. This would be a perfect addition to a concours restoration car. It's that nice. Thanks, mike

A "G", and I pay shipping too? you drive a hard bargain...That is some radio for a restoration.

Nice looking radio!

In my 68 Barracuda brochure the AM/FM radios were a dealer installed option.
That's why they are rare.

I think the mounting bracket on my 68 Barracuda AM radio is removable.
The bracket might be interchangeable with the other thumb wheel brackets. Not totally sure though. It might help your sale
That maybe why the Chrysler emblem instead of the Plymouth or Dodge ones .
Good luck on your sale.

I sold a correct am-fm from a 69 gts 4years ago for 90$ and the guy cried that I was ripping him off. no chrome lifting and everything worked including the back lite. I think I am going to cry now. LOL

Nice radio. If people don't like the price then move on.

Any buyers out there? I really don't want to eBay this thing. I'm also looking for 340 hp manifolds. 68-69 a body for partial trade. Thanks, mike
