Well, if I was going to run a standard offset rocker in a aluminum head with a stock intake port opening, I'm going RPM or Stealth.

If I'm using a standard offset rocker with a Max Wedge intake window height, its the Indy EZ. Never fully tested an Indy head myself, until yeaterday, when I pulled a plain 'ol standard intake 440-H1-SEZ-1 from the shelf and did some porting. The EZ that I tested has the stock size intake opening so you can bolt up a factory cast iron manifold or an Edelbrock RPM or sumpthin' like that.

Here are the out of the box flows.

.100".........69 cfm
.200"........131 cfm
.300"........190 cfm
.400"........239 cfm
.500"........283 cfm
.600"........307 cfm
.700"........313 cfm

I opened the intake window to Max Wedge height but kept the stock width. This will make it so I cannot use a Max Wedge opening manifold because the ports on that style intake are too wide. But Edelbrock has the answer in the Super Victor 440 part #2891, because you can port it to any window size from stock to Max Wedge. After the porting and several flowtests, this is what we came up with.

The first column is the configuration I would probably choose to run and the second was only to see if I could push it to the 370 cfm range.

Ehhhhh, requires a lot of lift to use the flow. Great if your racing.

I have flow numbers from a set of 440-C heads we used on our last 470. I can post those numbers if you like. I think you will be happy to see what they flowed. I did NOT port them, just cleaned up some boogers in the runners, left them untouched otherwise.

You know you have a good flowing head when you get 730+hp @6800rpm.

The way i see it, we need to post as much info as we can to help out our fellow Mopar Maniac's. Love the info you post Brian, keep it up!

I made 776HP at 6500rpm with MW port Eddy heads I ported on a 505cid bracket engine. I had to use the cam over, it was 264-268@ .050 and 12.8:1 compression, Victor 4500 intake and a box stock 1050!
I was VERY impressed with the Victor heads at that point. But my all time favorites are B1's.
I agree, posting info like this helps guys out tremendously and probably saves money and mistakes.

I know when I was building my duster I received a ton of help with wiring and other things I didn't know but others did. Just payin it back.

Can't speak for Brian, but Jim wants to see them. Don't embarrass me, I'm very sensitive. Would be fun to see how they flow compared to the 906 heads we used on the wounded 500.

I,m very happy with the ezs on my 500. Hand ported but never flowed. Seat of the pants is awesome.Using a 585 lift solid roller so they breathe well

Also the Max Wedge ports were not really MW size OOTB, they were a little smaller. The only other thing we did eas a valve job to help the slow on the lower lift. Flowed on a 4.500" bore, no flow tube on the exhaust

How do they stack up? How do you spell "obliterate"?

This is a typical port from the 906s on the 500, that we got to run on Comp's dyno, AFTER they roasted it by running it without water. It made 730 HP @ 6600 RPM. We used a 1050 cfm 4150, Indy 3X single plane for the top.

I was quite surprised at the flow myself. I even flowed them 3 more times on different days and it was all within .5%. Down the road this guy wants more power. We didnt go for the max just yet as he is going from a 470HP small block to this. With a bigger intake(MW ports instead of Victor), and some porting I dont see why this 470 shouldnt make another 100-120HP with the cam thats in it.

Head flow is probably the most sought after info for the hobbyist and on up!

Ill flow anything you got, just sent it out and Ill do it in my spare time for free. Just pay to get it here and back. I can flow Any Mopar BB and SB, BBC, SBC, BBF SBF Carbs, Tbodies. Intakes

OOTB they are crap. They stall at .500 lift most times. Now with a good valve job, chamber porting and some short turn work they wake up big time and have more port speed but overall port speed is very low on these heads.
I like the SR's or EZ's fully ported or just go B1's. The eddy MW heads are good too, just require more work like the -1's IMO.
 
Even thou I have Indy heads on my car abd there are vary good,I still wont buy anything from Indy again. Mark
 
Do you think opening up the EZ intake ports to max wedge size would help the lower lift flow any?

I know, I checked it 3 times. I even calibrated the bench 2 times just to make sure it was not off. I did some chamber mods, competition valve job, but no real port work in the ports. It seemed to help the low lift flow out a lot. This engine ran super good with a super flat torque curve

I agree 100%! i have a set of SR's that supposedly came with Ferrea or Manley valves at least that is what those clowns claimed.
after one of the heads fell off one of the valves. I had a someone look at the valve. Only to find out they were some cheep knock offs.
Of course they claimed it hit a piston because I am an incompetent Back Yard Hack......
