ok, this car is a beat old rag, that has gone under the knife twice in the past, and now i will complete its third and final surgery.lol it is numbers matching fc7 340 4 speed with decent options, and for the most part, i am going to take it back to the day it left the showroom floor.
here is some pics of all the stuff i got with it, and bringing the parts home. my garage is not done yet, so i decided to leave the car in his garage.

Wow $17k sure don't go far at resto shops now a days. Good luck with project got whole lot of work ahead.

that is a joke, right?

No, the rust and old paint are a bit to perfect.

If you look closely at the little bit of rust below the G on the G33 code, that rust is not consistent with horizontal rusting.

The sealer that you can see, where the paint has chipped off, is a very close approximation to the factory stuff but I believe it is at least a half shade off.

The ridge around the left screw hole shows incorrect paint depth, again very close, but about just a touch overdone.

The rust spot above the Y on the Y05 code is consistent with vertical rust development, this reinforces my earlier theory related to the G33 code.

lol. that cracks me up. you must be a metalurgist! . rofl

i really like the part of the sealer, where the paint chipped off is a shade off!!!!!!!!!!!!!

now i am starting to think you are serious

so, the numbers on the engine, 4 speed trans, rad support and trunk lip all match, so what would there be to fake it?

You are a madman 340plot. I would love to have a 70 340 4 speed dart. Way cool build. Subscribed.

Glad to see your going to keep the roof on it

68formula not just you, but this is why i took a leave of absence from here, and now i have decided NOT TO continue with this restoration thread.

i cannot fathom a reason why someone would fake the tag, and yet it is rusted out, when all numbers match.point blank.

same as when i posted pics of the fender tag for the fm3 pink duster, i had someone getting on there telling me that the tag was faked.

f***** i am so sick of the naysayers.

what iu am trying to say is, that even if i did not have this tag, nor the build sheet, it is still a numbers matching car, due to the engine, trans (4 speed) and body numbers all match the vin and title. right? am i right with that assumsion?

screw it, mods, please delete thread or lock up

The fendertag calls for a E55-340 and a D21-4 speed

they thew a 7.25 rear, and k frame in it when the guy took it from the shop. i will post pics tommorow, as the origional k frame with k-h brakes are all locked solid!
as i had said, this car was apart completly back in the late 70's, and repainted.

if you look in the trunk, and see all sky blue.lol

The tag looks just fine to me, Joe just ignore him and keep the thread up I love seeing your work, especially "Pinky", Can't wait to see this one done!

Where and how do you keep coming across these finds? Man you must be in the middle of Mopar central!

Oh come on Plot, it was just a little light hearted teasing. My post about the fender tag was ridiculous.

"not consistent with horizontal rusting." lol..... What the hell is horizontal rusting anyway?

We are interested. I posted the "Pulling your Leg" clip from youtube.

I had hoped you would get a chuckle out of the whole thing.

Sorry if you took thing seriously.

It is completely obvious that is an original, 40 year old tag.

plot.....don't give up! For every one person who criticize to impress us with their deep knowledge of all things automotive, or are just jealous of your ways of doing things, there are a dozen of us that thoroughly enjoy reading about your newest exploit! Keep it up! You have a talent and enthusiasm that most of us wish we were able to invest in our projects! Ben.

I've enjoyed all of your resto threads, if you get a few people that don't like your work or direction on your builds, remember that 99% of the people are behind you on what you are doing.
The other 1% can go pound sand.......

Gotta laugh at how even some good-natured ribbing can be taken the wrong way on this great internet lol..

I tried googling "horizontal rusting"
