well, got my hydraulic clutch kit, uses a Mcleod Hyd. T.O. bearing. Appears to be nice quality parts...Now I need to find a good diaphram clutch that will support 530HP...any one know of a good clutch/pressure plate kit?

I used the Centerforce complete set up in my 70 with the 410 Stroker. The only problem I had with it was the throw out bearing had just a bit of a noise after a few months of me beating on it. Other than that the Aluminum Flywheel, Clutch and Pressure Plate worked very well. I would buy another one without hesitation.

To echo everyone else on a number of points:
1 - thank you for your service to our great country!
2 - I'm jealous as HELL about how you're building your Dart
3 - Beautiful welds and fabrication skills.. truly .. it's artistic
4 - LOVE the wheel/tire combo, size and fitment
5 - This may be one of the most bad-*** Darts I've ever seen ... keep it up!!
6 - thank you for sharing all this with us!

Another thing.. thanks for the info on that Vintage Air heater/defroster... I was planning on getting rid of my old heater core and heater box just because I didn't want to deal with it, but did think that having a defroster MIGHT be nice every now and then.. I like the Vintage Air option, AND the fact that it's all electric (no cables) is really nice, and will allow for a much cleaner installation. I'm really curious to see any pictures of other installations of this item..

Where did you get the hyd throwout bearing and kit? Part number if you still have it please. Wilwood doesn't list anything for the TO bearing?

Thank you. the one I originally posted, i had problems with it regarding fitment, I sent it back to Peak Dashes and he built me a new one, Free of charge!!! That is a great company!!

f*ck, nice

lol thank you. its slow going, i had a baby last august, so everything kinda stopped, and my money went to the baby, lol. rest assured, its at my buddy's garage the next town over, and hes doing things to it i cant do like repairing the quarter panel....

when it was replaced or skinned back in the 70's they did on "okay" job...so my friend is a body man and i bought a new door jamb pillar from AMD and hes welding it all in for me and straightening everything. but thats it for now. I should have pics later this month....

thanx for covering our asses glad you all got the job done awsome awsome job on that ride very nice work looks beefy you deserve it keep pushn on and more pics as u go wow

Not bursting a bubble--Just want to help--See if there is a build date on your throw out bearing--I got one from a first batch and ended up getting 3 from Passon--And that translates into pulling the trany 4 times before Jaimie had enough and got me a tilton--Mcleod had tapped the banjo fittings to DEEP and caused leaking,Jaimie told me that the issue got taken care of,Fred the tech guy and Mcleod took many a call from me when I went thru this and they never admitted the problem but now Jaimie has sold a few of them with no issues ,So I hope you got a GOOD one--This was 2 years ago and wanted to give you a heads up--Steve

Thank you Steve, I will most definitely look into that!

Just a small update, nothing crazy...we were working on the driver side quarter panel and stripping the old paint, and noticed it was re-skinned long ago probably in the 70's. They did a "decent" job for the time. SO, we got it down to where we could see what was goin on with it...

So, I bought a full OE stye quarter panel from Auto Metal Direct. It's a real nice piece. We should have it installed soon. I currently don't have pictures of the new quarter, but I will soon.

This was a bench seat car, but i'm putting in bucket seats. so we welded in bucket seat reinforcement plates, just like the factory did.

I am also installing the lower radiator support and inner fender braces that FABO member "badart" makes.

I had John bend these up for me to clear the 17x8 inch wheels, and will be installed something like this:

That is all for now...more to come later...

Looking good James. Wish John had stiff for Later B bodies

My car had buckets in it and there are only 2 plates installed at the floor for each seat. I guess it was a Friday built car! I will add my own reinforcements to finish it off.

I found the same thing on my quarters of my Demon but they never seam sealed in the appropriate areas and had to fix unessesary rust especially where the quarter and tail panel meet..just curious if you found that on your Dart?

Good job I wish my 69 dart ws getting the attention your 70 is getting. I would also like to thank you for your service for our country.
Keep up the good work, it looks grade A.
