What's the WORST car/truck you've owned?

-
Anyone remember these..I had the sports wagon.0-60 in 15 to 20 seconds, could not believe how thin the metal was..I could get it up to @ 70 mph going down a hill with a backwind. Front brake routers would warp in short order so I used to put a very hard brake pads so I could extend their longevity and it had a gear shift like an elastic bands or bubble gum..would not shift into 2nd wg\hen cold.. mostly drove it flat out on the highway and really had to plan if you wanted to pass a car..

Thought it was the worst car I had until I bought my first new ford..never owned another domestic until my 'stang..

I had a 72 Dodge D150 in "shoot out edition" It had a bullet hole in the windshield and in the rear wall of the cabin. 0-75 mph never happened! But it did take me and my Dart parts all around Washington, Idaho, Nevada California and back to Oregon again. But it was a heavy load when we entered Clatskanie. Yeez. The police pulled me over and asked where the rear springs were. -It should be there under some where I replayed! He told me to take it easy the rest of the 2 miles I had to drive! Quite a trip.

I got a thrashed 66 Valiant convertible for $500. The seller talked me down from my offer of $550. It needed everything, which I eventually replaced, motor, front end, springs etc. Then I sold it for $500 when I moved to CA in a hurry. The guy who bought it from me got a hell of a good deal.

Near the bottom:
My brother's NOVA and Mustand II (both 70s cars, purchased in the 80s) were nothing but trouble.
My sister's 1978 Ford Fairmont station wagon (purchased used)
My sister's 1986 Dodge 600 (used)
My mom's 1983 Renault Alliance (purchased new) window cranks, etc. would break off.
And the worst:
My 2005 VW Jetta. (Used). Failure after failure, and then the engine self-destructed (at 65K miles), once it was just out of warranty.

Does it count if you got the car used, and don't know how badly it was abused by the former owner?

I would have to say a 1979 Pontiac Lemans. Bought it and half way home i was getting flashed with headlights and horns. I looked out the rear view mirror to see nothing but bellowing smoke. The car was ****........BTW It was sold to me from my Brother. Nice guy eh! I dumped in a 305 it had a six in it and flipped it quick. Last time i bought anything from family:banghead:

VW Jetta
Ford Taurus
Dodge Neon
Multiple Grand Voyagers minus the one we have now
Toyota Corrola
Geo Tracker
Ford F-100 (80's model)

I think mine was a 96 impala ss that thing spent more time at the dealer ship then it did in my drive way

'91 Mercedes 560 SEL
Actually drove like a dream--even in 2012, when I owned it for six painful months. Bought it for $4K because it had an engine rebuild, tranny rebuild and suspension rebuild. So what else could go wrong. Everything. And brother, everything costs with a Mercedes. $4,500 later in repairs at an independent and fair shop (within six months), I was done with it.

Honda Accord and a Toyota pickup. Both low mileage pieces of junk. Honda started smoking like a freight train and the Toyota...well, maybe the trans was ok. I sold it to a salvage yard. I'll bet they lost money on it as I don't know of anything on it good enough to resell.

Ironic, I have a 96 and a 95 caprice, (The 96 is an ex squad car) and they were/are the most reliable cars in my household currently. The transmission needs to be replaced on the 95, but I already have one in my 96 that I replaced before I spun a bearing in it. That would be my fault, I revved it up one too many times and the guy who reflashed the PCM set the shift points higher than the valve springs could handle at 140K miles. :eek:ops: Now granted the valve springs in the LT1 weren't that great to begin with, :wack: but other than that the car was freaking awesome. Which is why I have 2 caprices and not one. :D We actually haven't had terrible cars. We have cars that are inexpensive to buy because they need work to be done on them. Typically about $1K worth on them. Then they run forever. The 95 needed a set of pads, an alternator, a new blower motor, a thermostat, and a belt. Everything except the the blower motor and the thermostat was scavenged off the 96. I have $60 invested in getting it to where it is now. My sister's MC however is the worse of the fleet. In cold weather you have to warm the car up for about 5-10 minutes before it'll shift into gear. And my brother's beemer... well, lets just say he bought it in early November and it took until late January before he was finally able to drive it around normally to where it wouldn't over heat, or throw coolant all over the inside of the windshield, or look like an electrical fire hazard behind the radio, or drain the battery, or not shift into reverse because 3 motor/transmission mounts were sheared off and the engine was sitting at an angle to where you physically couldn't...

2000 ford crown vic police interceptor. it was cool, fast and it was funny to
scare people by getting right on their rear bumper. but if their was something
wrong with it, it wouldn't never through a code so i could hook a scanner to it.
then i would have to spend an entire day just to find out what it might have
been.

note. cop cars run for 24 hours a day while in service

The first and last ford i ever owned, a 86 mustang lx 5.0

The tops leaked like crazy, drove like crap and wouldn't pass emissions.

Same here it was my first car and the worst car I ever owned the only good thing about it was the mag wheels sold it after 2 weeks lots of people loved it Idk why

1981 Oldsmobile Omega, 2.8L V6, auto. FWD, GM X body.

Purchased new, was complete crap within 60K miles.

FORDS, hands down. In all honesty I had a couple of Ferd muscle cars that were OK back in the 70's, but for the most part I spent more time fixin' than I did drivin".

The ford was definitely the worst I've ever had. Never had a bad dodge!

Early 80's ford escort what a POS that think was. Had it about two weeks put new tires all the way around. The next day blew a head gasket. Told my buddy he could have the tires then called someone to come and tow it away...

4cyl ford ranger. It couldnt get out of its own shadow and the single cab was too small for me. So happy i never technically "owned" it or i would've been wishing for someone to total that truck.
