Wasnt sure where to put this question?? Has anyone replaced the seals on the pop out rear windows? I have a dart sport. Any secrets or where should I start?

No, but I am going to watch this thread. My rear push out seals are good, but I'm sure I will need to replace them at some point. I did all the other seals, though.

The window assemblies have to come out and the frames disassembled. The rubber seals themselves are available from a number of sources. The 'flocked' hinge seal is a different story.

Some pics here (bottom of page): http://www.70duster440.com/misc.html

And video #7 on this page shows some details on how the assembly comes out - several minutes in: http://www.70duster440.com/downloads.html

I uploaded the same video to YouTube which may stream better. Talk about the quarter window starting at 20 sec: [ame="http://youtu.be/oS1_i9NBNXg"]302 Found[/ame]

I had a feeling I had to take the frame apart :/
thanks for the help

I was able to replace the rubber seal (bought from Steele Rubber) without disassembling the frame. I removed the window and frame from the car and removed the screw that holds the latch to the glass (at rear of window). This allows you to move the glass far enough to remove and replace the rubber seal. But, as stated before, if you need to replace the 'flocked' hinge seal you will need to disassemble the frame and good luck finding the flocked seal. I did not replace the flocked seal.

Excellent tip! Thanks!!

I found the flocked seal here:

Part No. CHRY32230 on page 20 of the catalog. Caution - not for the faint of heart...

Have you actually installed this part on the popout windows? Their illustration doesn't look a whole lot like the part I installed. If it is correct, that's great! When I did mine years ago, all I could find were NOS pieces - and you don't want to know what I had to pay.

BTW, I bought a lot of stuff through Restoration Specialites. They have a lot you can't find elsewhere.

Yes, I installed these and they seem to do the job. Don't know what else they might fit, but they were quite long - probably a foot longer than necessary.

few hours, soap water, and lots of swearing but their done :violent2:Oh and I removed the latch I didn't dissembled the frame. I recommend doing the lower part first. Its the bigger end. You can slide the glass away from it and makes it a lot easier.
