I've had a few a-bodies in the past but its been quite a while. Picked up my 73 duster on wednesday. Mods will be starting shortly. It is a 1973 340 duster. Red with white stripes (black originally). Plan on putting a black stripe on it, black dual snorkel as well. It is basically stock with a shift kit, B&M quicksilver shifter, small cam (dont know the size), and nice dual exhaust. I believe it has 3.91 gears as well, but I have not had the chance to see what they are.

Also have a 69 roadrunner race car with a indy 440 in it. A 86 ram d150 with a 440 big block, an srt4 with light mods (around 300-350hp), and a mildly modded 5.9 diesel ram.

Pictures are farther down below.

Welcome to FABO! Man that car looks super clean. Nice find and thanks for the pics.

thanks!! i've been searching for 6 months or so, bought it a day after it appeared on craigslist about 3 hrs away from me. hadnt seen rain in years, then I bought it and towed it home in a rainstorm lol.

now I need to figure out whats in the motor... so I can figure out how to progess modification wise. Looking for a 8 3/4 as well for it.

it came with all the stock parts to replace the mod parts, the guy was very methodical with everything he did. still has all the original a/c stuff and heater core.

its a console car as well, i have the console in storage.

aw man... i put them in a folder on photobucket. I'll repost haha. oops.

Plans currently for the duster are:
either bigger tires for the rear (tires on it are tiny), or weld prostars if I can get some cheaply (have a line on em).
change the white stripe back to the correct black stripe
possibly put a snorkel hood on
aftermarket steering wheel (so I fit better, and I dont like the stocker very much).
light mods to the motor (maybe a cam, intake manifold, carburetor).

a little update on the car.

basically kept it AS IS from when I bought it. have bought a lot of stuff to install. headers, intake (air gap), cutouts, exhaust, new 8 3/4 rear with 3.55s, subframe connectors, new kframe (stock kframe was cracked on steering gear box mount (irrepairable), rear springs/shocks, poly bushings all around.

moved to florida, hence the wait on the installs. ended up driving the car to florida with a buddy taking back roads etc most of the way. it was a total blast (about 1600 miles), had a lot of thumbs up and people talking to us. Almost zero issues with the car other than a water pump which we changed in a autozone parking lot in 2hrs (including getting the parts). the 3.90 gears were just too rough for the highway as it was taching 3k at 64 mph.

Thanks for the update. Great road trip :thumleft:. That's one you'll remember the rest of your life...Good stuff!
