The Maturity level of FABO members...

Hello friends, I was recently looking at a thread over on FCBO and read a very interesting thread about a mopar from nastyZ28.com. I noticed that pretty much everyone had really good things to say about this car, all these GM guys admiring a Mopar. Then I thought about here and how it seems we have some members that always have to bash >insert subject here<. If someone posted a Caprice here, there would be a lot of **** talk...

Just food for thought...

if your into GM then you think with the "any shiney object looks great" mentality =P~

Have to disagree Rani. As a convert. When you set valve lash, and deal with the fan belts falling off at 6800 shift points,I disagree......396 Rat.....

i was waiting for someone to call me on it LOL.....if you have seen some of my posts ....i have admitted to being into GM myself BWAHAHAHAHAHA

GM made a good product ....but i still think mopar is the best of the best.

i could see an early nova ...with 4 speed. :toothy9::toothy9::toothy9::toothy9::toothy9:

Caprice, now there's a sweet ride. lol

at least we are talking about American cars .......dont say Toyota ...bcoz thats when the baseball bats and pitchforks come out

MMMM..... Heres a REAL muscle car. 1970 Nissan Skyline 2000 GTR.

Rani, thanks for the response.!(lol). As for early Novas,a friend runs 11.0 flats, daily driver .

Before a couple years ago, when I purchased my first A-body, I worked mostly with Chevys and the occasional Ford. I had no intention of ever owning three A-bodies, but I do, for now. But, I always liked the Darts right from the first time I saw one. I didn't have the slightest idea of the history or uniquely interesting aspect that Mopar holds. But I still liked them. Who couldn't like some of the cars they have produced? Chevy, Ford or Mopar owners included. I still have other projects, but I don't talk about them on "For A-Bodies Only". I figure this is a site for those. A lot of people here really don't care about anything else. Some say that is closed minded, some say "Mopar or no car". I like a heck of a lot more than one body style or brand name, but I can respect someone else's opinion and preferences. And....if you bring a knife to a gun fight......be prepared to get shot at. :glasses7:

I understand J-Mac....I wish, even though we are Mopar people, that most would appreciate all early muscle cars. We're all getting older and it was a great time in the American car's history. I along with many others here have owned, worked on, and raced other brands beside Ma's. I will never bad mouth the other brands as they all had there pro's and cons. These cars are from a limited era, and although i prefer the Pentastar, I see no reason to beat on others that have a different opinion. Just take them out on the street or the track....nuff said. :D

man...im still diggin that skyline!im a car guy!mopar just happenises to be the one that feels like home.

So where do i fit in if i'm respectful of all makes, but extremely immature with my sense of humor. :D

I really enjoy my Mopars, especially the A bodies. I've dabbled in just about every piece of early American iron there is. I enjoy looking at what other builders have done with the great hot rods out there. I never intentionally bash the other cars, or their owners. It just isn't right, this is a free country the last time I checked and everyone has the right to their own opinion, and choice of vehicles they wish to build. I don't mean to bash anyone here, nor their opinions.

You referring to my crash back in early 2011? And yes, there was **** talking but it was all in good fun for the most part.

I prefer Mopars, but I like a lot of other stuff too. My brothers got Chevys but likes Mopars. We have a friendly Chevy-Mopar rivelry and work on each others stuff. Hes got a surface rusty 54 with a roller motor and a 5 speed. I love that car. My favorite is the real early Chevy 2 novas. I have a 61 Falcon but it'll never get the attention from Me that My Mopars do. Imports dont do anything thing for Me though.

I may gently stab at the Ford and Chevies, but I've owned at least one car of every make and model through the years. There was the Mercury Cyclone, the Nova, the GTO's, the Smoky and the Bandit trans am, just about every car out there!! Why Mopar then??? Simply because they're the best, and I love them!!

Just as a matter of reference, the Chevy guys don't get a break from me cause they never wave when you pass them on the road!! Neither do Viper owners, so they don't get one either!! Can't respect someone who doesn't respect you!! Geof

I don't know...

I've posted pics of my old man's '54 Ford more-door which I'd like to turn into a summer daily driver and got good responses. (From those who responded.)

I recently posted pics and the story behind my '89 F150 and got good responses on that, too.

The people who didn't respond to these threads, but read them, either didn't have anything to say about it, or if they had negative responses, didn't say it. That shows maturity.

A lot of guys will post a thread "Needing help with Brand X" and for the most part a lot of guys post helpful responses with the occasional tongue in cheek (as I read it) ribbing about it not being a Mopar.

As a Ford owner, too, I rib on myself and my old man, when his '92 Aerostar needs work. I'll tell him I found the problem: it's starts with the emblem on the grille and goes all the way back. The Aerostar has 280,000 miles on it and is spotless. No matter what brand, that mileage is to be respected. (Especially an Aerostar... most of them have rotted into the ground by now, even in good climates.)

From what I've read on here, a lot of guys are car guys. There are those with chips on his or her shoulder when it comes to brand x, but those are the same guys who not just hammer on brand x, but also the other letters of the alphabet in the Mopar line up. Those are the people who are A-body fans only, and if you look close at their posts, you'll see that they are fans of only their A-bodies.

Nothing wrong with brand preference , i love all cars 1923-1972 hence oldcarnut lol , it's hard to determine genuine ballbustin' vs actual ignorance over the screen .....and it's easy to get offended by a comment read online , people are so damned concerned about saying or suggesting something that may offend another that it sucks the fun right out of it .
Do i say chevy sucks ? hell yes !! Would i pound the snot out of say a 65 impala 396 425 Hp 4spd car ? hell yes and it would put a smile on my face . HORSEPOWER!!! is a lot of fun and is truly my stress and anger management . I would own and drive any car i like no matter the brand as long as i like it and could give a rats *** what anyone thinks , and you could still call it a pos and we can hang out and laugh and pick my car apart together .....

I drive Mopars even though I work for Ford

At 15 my dad said you will drive Chrysler product, was OK WITH THAT

I like all cars and appreciate them. It doesn't matter, there are good and bad in each brand, some just better than others

It is much cheaper to build a GM car than any other since they support the hobby more than the other brands. The small block Chevy has been around since DIRT, plenty of them out there, buy parts for them everywhere

At the Mecum auction last week there was everything you can think of and many I would enjoy driving

Got to love the Cutlass 442's, elCamino, some really cool Fairlanes, mustangs and galaxies. Then the corvettes, camaros, chevelles, impalas, belairs

Yeah a few foreign cars too

But love my Mopars still even though I can drive what I want, dad has been gone almost 9 years, he died the day I went out and bought a new Ford, I tell everyone that is what did it, but really the doctors told him he had 3 to 6 weeks and he lived 6 weeks and 3 days. My daily driver is my 07 Mustang, but have the Mopars covered with a Dodge, Plymouth and Chrysler

I do like to give people crap about what they drive, but it is in fun, BECAUSE I LIKE THEM ALL

I've never turned away from any of them. I love muscle cars, and have owned many "others" as well. I grew up and was raised on Mopar and they are and always will be my brand of choice.
