found a Valiant with build date 8/72 on the door at the wrecking yard.Has disc brakes.The caliper is at the 10 o'clock position if that matters. Second question is will this work on my 67 Dart that has drums?

is it multi or single piston calipers? large or small bolt pattern?
Large bolt pattern and single piston calipers will be 73 and up.
Either set-up will fit your 67. Make sure you get the disc brake prop valve/distribution block on the inner fender as well as all the other parts.

Usually a September forward build date indicates the next year model, so, that one should be a 72. Although knowing MoPar, as late as that one is, it could probably go either way.

The 6th digit (number) in the serial number on the dash will tell you what year the car is.
2=1972
3=1973

Model year change over is usually in June. Typically anything built in July and later is for the "next" model year. So a car built in July of 72 or later should be a 73 model.

Also I think upper ball joint size changed between 72 and 73 along with bolt pattern.

Thanks for all the info.will measure bolt pattern.this one is a single piston.will also take a look at the vin.

10 o-clock would be small bolt KH. Check the bolt pattern.

Depends which side you are looking at <LOL>. 10 on the passenger side, 2 on the driver's side.

The 67-72 caliper would be on the rear side, at any rate.
