The POS 408 progress pics....

I love fabbed aluminum radiators.

Champion makes a realy nice a-body radiator as a sidenote for any of you guys interested...
200ish bucks for this is a nice price IMO.

Companies like Becool are screwing people royally for way more.

That is the radiator I bought for the TT Dart. Fits well and drops right in. I did order it with the Hoses opposite for an A Body. Took a couple weeks and I went and picked it up at the Vendors house which was about 30 minutes from me.

Yep for darts they make three different radiators. 2 are application specific and the third covers a wide array of years.

They are all very nice. I'm confident this rad I bought will be more than up to the task. They say it will cool 750 hp whatever that means, but I know it will cool my junk.

Time for more pics....got the alternator setup all squared with my custom milodon dipstick mounted to it.

Looks great! Got a little problem to solve though. The dipstick comes too close to the fuel pump blockoff. I have to somehow get a plate on there or a plug or something! I'll figure it out.

Here you can see my dipstick issue. Maybe a flat steel plate with some flathead screws or something...I dunno. The dipstick is staying!!!:jocolor:

That is one pretty small block.

Thanks! Lots of time and patience.
I can now say the only original part is the block.
Everything is new. No stone unturned.

I'm dying to hear it run.
I'm in the process of getting the truck ready for it.
Soon as it warms up a bit more we go fast forward.

I had to get a custom mount for the 727 trans to work, and a 4 inch aluminum driveshaft about 3.5 inches longer t make up for the shorter tailshaft of the 727 from the 46re. I set up the 9.25 inch rear with a 3.90 gear. I didnt want too high a cruising rpm. The rear will handle anything this motor can throw at it, so no worries there. I may in the future get a dana with discs, but for now I dont care.

My 'verter is a "tight" 10 inch from Frank Lupo and supposed to stall at around 3800. Truck is significantly heavier than a 3100 a-body by probably 600-700 lbs, so I should flash where it needs to be when I whack it while not slipping badly in normal driving and making a bunch of heat.

*I want to be able to put it in gear and put a load on it to seat the rings right after I start it is my reason for wanting the whole driveline together.*

The whole front end is off so it's easy to work on everything and make sure everything is fine before putting her together.

I tested that radiator fan today. First time like a dummy I was holding it. It torqued HARD and flew out of my hands. lol Thing moves some air! Hell of a deal for 60 bucks! It will more than cool this engine all by itself, so there will be no flex fan. I like the engine to not be obscured by stuff so that's cool. So far everything is working out well. Just a few small bugs, some wiring and we'll be ready to drop it in the rails and hear some noise!

I'm really excited.

Looking good, mind if ask ya a question if you don't mind awnsering, I was just woundering how much $ it set you back for the stroker kit? Thanks, and it'll be interesting to here how loud your gear drive will be, you'll have to let us know. I remember the smile on my face when we ran my engine in and hat first drive, goodluck

I think the typical 408 rotating assembly is about 1600 USD.
The geardrive I have actually heard nin operation. I do a lot of work on the side for other people's dodge trucks.

It's a pleasant smooth mechanical whine and nowhere near the piercing shriek that the milodon has. It's a very nice unit if you;re willing to do a little extra work to make it work. it's not a direct bolt on. There are things that need to be done to make it perfect.

I am currently painting the frame in the truck and redoing my brake system so we're close to getting it all installed and fired up.

I will definitely film it and post it here.

Thanks for all the interest. Makes me appreciate all the work I've done so far.:angel9:

This was supposed to be a cylinder head swap and it turned into a ground up rebuild of everything.

I know BonBon (POS Dakota) has been working on the dakota and it hasn't gotten fired up yet

Yeah. The dakota got put on the back burner, last i heard from bonbon

What are you telling them you ********? I am doing bodywork now here and there when I care. Chassis is a roller with z06 discs up front and 13 inch viper rears. Suspension completely rebuilt with poly bushings and caltracs. Rockers need some metal replaced as does the lower firewall. Roof at the top of the pillar has a hole.

Its a project. When I have the time and give a F-bomb I do more. When I dont I dont. I dont have to have it running by monday. There are plenty of other things I like to do as well. So brian....what are YOU DOING? LOL

And yes I got a 2013 camaro with some work into it. I love it. Suck my balls on a hot day.
