Well guys, worked my *** off last two weeks and yesterday was payday! had 36hrs overtime and decided to treat myself. Finally got myself a good welder. I Got the millermatic 211! this bad boy is nice! I recommend them to anyone looking for a welder that will run on 120v and 230v. Its night and day between my old Marquette 179.

very nice...where did u get it if u dont mind me asking

Wow, that IS nice! I am happy with my little Hobart Handler 140, for now, but that really gets the wheels turning in my head... Can't wait to see the work you do with it!

damn nice welder I have 3 miller welders and they are top notch.i always say pay a little more for a welder and you will thank yourself. this machine will make even the most inexperienced welder look like a pro.

I got it at central welding supply. miller has a sale going on (it officially starts on Oct. 1st but sales guy hooked me up). I got it for $1049.99. Then if you spent $150 on Miller accesories you get a $100 mail in rebate. They gave me the cash right then and there. I got a spool gun for welding aluminum. the spool gun was $189.99. I did alot of research before spending this kind of money. This is the #1 selling welder in the U.S.A. and for good reason. It gets amazing reviews by everyone that tests them. This machine will do sheet metal all the way up to frame repairs. It should be all the welder i will ever need! I'm like a kid on christmas morning. lol

'You don't mind my asking just what is it that makes this so much better than your old one? I'm assuming? your old one worked as it should.

I'm jealous. I've had two lincoln welders borrowed from friends for a year now. One 110 and one 220. Gave the 220 back recently but still have the 110. If I had known I was going to weld this much, I would have bought one! Something like that Miller you got would have been nice!

Looks nice. Looks very portable. So can that be considered a carry on for your plane trip to MA to work on my Dart? I'll have beer and steak tips waiting.

Well the old welder is the one in the picture below. I got that when i bought a car at a towing auction. the car had no keys and it was in the trunk. It is what i learned on. It is old technology. it was very primitive and worn out. it would lay a bead but it had a very hard time striking an arc and would sputter and stop feeding for no reason other then it is old and worn out. the one below only has 110 amp output and it limited my home welding projects. the miller 211 is just miles ahead in technology and as said before makes a novice welder alot better welder right out of the gate with the auto set feature. the 211 will also run on either 120v or 230v. I am building another car and will be doing alot of welding including the frame ties and reinforcing the k-member. just needed to step up to a better machine. that and i just plain wanted one. lol. the big deciding factor was when i ran it past the misses. she said "well you worked all those hours, you better get something out of it" i was on the way to the store before she finished the sentence. lol

I've certainly never regretted buying a MIG. My first (still have) was a little Lincoln 1xx 120V, and finally stepped up to a 180 Lincoln. No complaints. I've always been "marginal" on any stick welding, and actually haven't used one but once in 15 years.

i am not that great of a welder. I do well enough to get the job done. I can lay a bead that looks good and holds well thats good enough for me. its just alot easier with a nice machine. that being said. i did use the **** outta my old machine. built this bed with it. lol

and i built my coffee table with it too.

Great welder...bought a 211 about 4 yrs ago...Love it....Love the auto set and the 110/220 ....

Man, I'm jealous. I look at welder **** nearly everyday but still have yet to pull the trigger on my 1st welder!
