As per any header installation, these are not plug and play. Had to remove steering column, replace OE coupling with a round universal, shimmed driver side mount 1/4" and place strategic dimples in the tubes.

those are installed on an early abody?

what do they cost new? what did that steering shaft universal cost ya?

x2 on that universal. I'm not real crazy about the original. I may be able to use the Ram manifolds after all.

The headers were $344.00, I picked them up at Summit in Ohio. Around $367.00 with sales tax. I bought the universal from another car guy in town, listed for $75.00, he gave it to me for $50.00. Check with Summit or Jeggs.

Bummer about those dents. Maybe Sanderson needs to take another look at fitment. I sure wouldn't want to bend up my new headers......

Really! Thats crazy that you have to dent them up like that. They sure don't have the bugs worked out yet.

No mini starter. I sent the pics to Sanderson with the list of mods I had to make. Hope they can make some adjustments as these are hand made as ordered. I can't answer if they will fit power steering, call Sanderson and talk to Francisco. As to the relief dimples, I am not planning on racing the car, I just wanted something better than stock manifolds that look good and provide a little more rumble rolling into car cruises.

seeing the second generation of these headers, its evident that they redesigned them so as to place the #3 tube straight down, while bring the #1 tube up and back. Looks much better. I built a set of Supercomps from a 67 that are like this, #3 pointing straight down and #1 coming back. seems to be the best way short of taking #1 and #3 forward of the steering box and under.
