so i was wondering if any of you know a program or online thing that allows you to see changes in stroke, rod length, piston comp height, head gasket etc.

i need visual's!

Checked the KB site, Ed ? This may be a company proprietary thing. What piston dealer,is your business buying from? Sometimes, parts sales and contacts, help in that department.

I'm assuming this is more for parts/combo choosing than specific manufacturer proprietary data. I don't know of anything that shows a spinning model... But there are calculators like the KB site (my personal favorite) and the Wallace racing site and the usual desktop dyno things that can help show trends... There's also Larry Meaux's PipeMax, and Engine Analyzer and Analyzer Pro software that you can purchase... But they won't give you pictures. You have to be able to understand their theory, the math, and interpret the data because all of them have a certain level of assumptions built into them depending on what they were designed to predict.

I'm not sure what you're asking. but I know that when we went to alky with our dirt motors diamond had us take a plaster paris mold of the head the way we were going to run it.along with the cam species along with the bore and stroke of the motor.they sent us the prettiest pistons you ever wanted to see.and in the motor came out to 15 to1. the only trouble with that we had to buy 3 sets to get them. and with a custom piston they are 10 to a set or at least they used to.we bought 4 sets.and man what a motor you could hear that thing over any thing on the track and at 7500 would put chills down your back.and talk about SOB to start on a cool damp night.I would drain the front fuel bowl and fill it with gas and wen it would go from gas to alky you could here it change like a top fuel motor..oodamit boy.hope this is a help......Artie

let me rephrase. im looking for an adjustable online model that would (to scale) be able to adjust variables like rod length, compression height, bore, etc.

you would increase stroke and it would move the piston higher in the hole. that make more sense?

kid,I wish the man was still around that used to race them (slants)on dirt,he had them running with the V8s with 4bls.and i'm talking 355 and 377 chevys.if memory serves me he was using pontiac pistons and i'm not sure of the rods.and the heads were ported so much in places that he had to use epoxy to do it.and his carb (don't know what size)other than a 4bl. with an injector have you ever seen one?if not ill try to explain later to ya.I would get a motors manual which im sure you have already.and look at the brand X car specks to see what will work..and I also know that the cowter wts on the crank were as thin as a big block and damn near as sharp as a mower blade!man was it pretty.that thing revved like a 2 stroke!!!and he turned it 8500 he said they were good for about 1 season and when or if they blew up he brought them home in a bucket.thats how I meet him helping him pick up the pieces and seen the crank he said I had been the only one that's ever seen the crank and knew it was cut......I asked him why he didn't just build a V8 he said he loves seeing them stamp their feet when he won(and that was often)with 225 lettered on the hood! (225 ya right)I would have liked to know the C.I.of that thing.377 was the limit in that class at the time.and they would pump the first 5 cars.he never did get pumped.he would pull up there for them to do it but they told him there was no way he could be over the limit with a 225 6cyl. he told me if they ever did pump it he would have to go with a v8 Laughing like hell..his brther worked for a no big name cam co(.I wish I knew wicth one never asked and gruwd him a roller cam said it took them one winter in the evnings testing them on the compny dino.to get a gind that worked and blew 2 motors up to do it.and back then most of thos guys had nver herd of a dino let alone using one I gess that's wy they all run chevys cuz there to dum to make any thing els run!!!lol....O ya he also had sleves in all 6 holes said he has to sleve them to get the CI he wanted he said if they got down to and cheacked the only thing chry.was the block and head all that was long before conputers and the avalabluty of parts.back then you could get all the slants you wanted just for picking them up hell some people would pay to take them! so do sum homework witch im sure you have and let me know how you make out.....your frend........Artie :coffee2::coffee2:

dam have to go spell check stoped working I gess It blew up dam chevy must have had something to do with it lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!baaaaaaaa

I don't think that what you are looking for can be represented by a visual model. There is too much arbitrary information involved. Plus, to create something that accurately represented the parts and their dynamic function together would be a huge technological undertaking. A comptuer screen has limited resolution and would really not be fine enough to show small numerical changes.

If you are trying to figure out a combination, the only way to do it correctly is to 'do the math' until you arrive at whatever you're trying to accomplish. Besides, when you put the actual engine together, you would be verifying things by numbers anyway, not visually. This is especially true when you're dealing with minute tolerances that can go to the .0000" range.

You can easily find cubic inch calculators, dynamic compression ratio calculators, etc. online. They will spit out a number based on the specs you put it to the fields. I use them all the time. You just need to know what your specs are and enter them as accurately as possible to get the clearest answer.

That's funny A Body - I followed that link to google. My father's retired 11 years now, but his last 5 years of work at UTC's Research Lab was a finite element analysis for turbine blade production & manufacturing.

HA KID,!!! I wish you could see whats in my hands you will flip and be disappointed too well I kina liyed to ya ya I know :finga::finga:I knew it.im kind of upset my self damit!!!! all parts have been tested on a(?? vertebral??speeling??) computer and this is going to be a fing pig slug what everrrrrrrr,,,you whana call this junck *** sthbox wast of time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!it ran for 365 days at only,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,!!!!??????/ what its comeing aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa 8500 and then this peace of **** started leaking fing oil fixed that and ran it a another oooooooooman 10yrs at 8500,and this peace of **** started lecking agan IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIi personally thick he needs to start over and bild a hell any thing???????????what do ya think
