I'm a Summit guy, through and through. I shouldda known better. Found some 331 Hemi valve cover gaskets on Ebay. It was a Jegs sale. Good price and I am trying to watch every penny. I have to pay taxes on Summit stuff now since they have a store in Georgia. The Jegs price was a little less expensive so I bought them.

Got an email this morning saying they were discontinued and to call them for "other options". Only other option was some gaskets that were 53 bucks. The ones I bought were 28. No way would they price match, but they wouldn't even offer a discount. I told them to give me a refund. Then they couldn't even find my order. Finally found it and got it refunded.

They shouldn't even have stuff for sale if they don't have it in stock. Jeg's blows chunks and they suck nasty balls. Never again.

I use both Summet & Jegs. Never had a problem with either one.
Just finishing my second racecar up, I spent over 5K in the last 6 months with Jegs, mainly because the discount was better than Summit.
No problems with anything.

I had ordered a TCI trans shield from Jegs that was dropped ship from TCI.
Had it for a couple of months, never received an invoice, the box looked put together.
It had the top shield for the 904 & the lower bracket/parts pack was for a TH350.

Called Jegs up & had no problem getting my paypal account credited back, they were very easy to deal with. The lady emailed me an RGA & prepaid the shipping for the return.

I know sometimes these places are trying to clear out old inventory & may even sell it at a loss to get rid of it. Meanwhile, they have the same part in another brand at a higher cost.
When you ordered your part, did it show to be in stock? There is always a note on expected availability.
If I see that, I will call them to confirm availabilty & time frame.

:icon_smi:I will NEVER buy from summit because of who & what they sponser in prostock im a mopar man through & through just saying I have always used jegs never had a problem

:D Tell us how you REALLY feel there Rob.

Jegs was the one that showed a rev limiter on thier site that Comp apparently never made also.

I use both, and have only had that one problem and they sent me $50 worth of free chips for the one they sent.

I always liked Jegs before the internet days because they actually answer the phone all the time unlike Summit.

Order most of my stuff these days from Jegs...no sales tax..and besides as said...on who summit supports in pro stock...

only order from summit went i need it the next day..

I've been purchasing parts from Jeg's since at least the mid 80's with no probs!....Never had probs with returns either!...I think the writer of this thread had one too many of those nasty balls to suck on!:mumum:

I think that was totally unnecessary. No one attacked you.

Also for the last few months, no shipping or handling on in-stock parts from Jegs.
Looks like it will continue thru Christmas.
That makes it nice when you just need a 10 dollar part.
I thought it was a good move on their part.
I don't know if Summit has a simular frt deal or not.

You have to spend $99 to get free shipping at Summit.

I've certainly been caught with Summit too when stuff was supposed to be in stock and wasn't or where the expected shipping date just kept blowing out, but no issues getting a refund in these circumstances either.

I'm still waiting on a radiator that I ordered from summit in sept website said will ship today in stock. I received call next day that was sold out was now on back order expected ship date 10/14 10/15 got postcard says will ship 11/17.

Not defending Jegs or Summit, but I well remember the "good" ol days of mail order.

When I was a young'n and first got interested in electronics, you got "some magazine," and coveted the tear-out's for "all" the catalogs..........Heathkit, Lafayette, Burstein and Applebee, Allied Radio, etc

Then you LABOROUSLY filled out the undersized mail order form torn out of the catalog, then you found a day when you could go to the PO and get a money order, ......................mailed it to some far--of eastern address, and WAITED FOR AT LEAST A MONTH

Finally you would get your package, or rather notification of your package, which then meant that you had to juggle

home from school and homework

milking the cows

chopping the firewood

maybe shoveling or plowing snow

with finally making to the post office and back

and which point you would open your package and discover

1..............at least part of it had been back ordered

2..............at least part of it had magically been ignored with no real explanation

or 3.........at least part of the items had been substituted with unrelated goods, again with no explanation.

Call em? Hell no. You weren't gonna spring for a phone call clear back east, and besides, by the time you got home from school, the time difference meant "they" were long gone, practically asleep in bed!!!

Chief, you are one crusty, salty s o b! We're gonna have to carbon date you!

Hey Rob, don't let the turkeys with no meritt-get you down. He's not worth your peace and happiness. If you laugh at them, they get mad and you demonstrate that they have no influence over you. Best wishes with the first gen Hemi!

I'm a Summit guy too. Never had a problem with an order, a return, anything. Both before and after I worked there.

Jegs never seemed friendly on the phone, like I was a nuisance. And, back when I ordered from them, the receipts were ugly.

Thats all I got.

People actually call summit and jegs?....dam..I just order everything off their websites.....

Summit is the best and it seems they have more mopar stuff. Web site is easy to navigate... But if your not in a hurry to receive your stuff jegs is the cheapest with there price match deal...

when I ordered my rims from jegs I waited 3 weeks (back order) before I canceled the order, went thought summit and got them the same week I ordered

When I ordered my Edelbrock heads in '06 I had to order them from Jegs. Summit was back ordered and they didn't know when they would be in. Jegs said they would match the price because Summits was cheaper by a few dollars. Well I got my heads and after a while I checked the billing. They never matched the price and charged me their full price. I just let it go becuse it was only a few dollars but I probably should have called them. I just stick with Summit.

Just an FYI guys... Summit does price matching as well. Have to call in order to do it. But I order from Summit and always price match. No reason I should pay the high markups.

...we agree on something? Is the end Nigh?

I've ordered from jegs and its always a PITA. By comparison, i've ordered from summit at night and sometimes get the parts the very next day(standard shipping).

I picked up a k5 a few weeks ago as I needed transportation and the price was cheap enough I can flip it. Anyways, the front was lifted on blocks which is a big no no with leaf springs. Looking to replaced the springs and get the blocks out I found a set of lifted springs at summit and jegs cheaper then stock. Summit said out of stock till the 14th of December, jegs said in stock so I ordered from jegs.. 8 days later I get an email from jegs saying they are out of stock and should be shipped on December 24th!

Never liked jegs and still don't.

Summit rocks. ive ordered a ton of crap from them and never once had to return a single thing. their web page is cake to navigate and I can set my watch to the day my stuff will arrive. when a part is on back order, they tell you in bold red lettering BEFORE you pay for it. I don't care that they run a Camaro in pro-stock. I do love the fact that jeg coughlin is leading the pro stock points in his roy Johnson powered avenger !!
