Got the news today. Starting on the 30th. I'll be working for the State Police as a mechanic. After a year and a half of no benefits and little pay this will be nice. It only took 3 1/2 months of paperwork and many interviews. But it was worth it.

congrats bud! That's awesome news!

very cool, nothing better than a steady job that you can retire from.

Yes after being laid off then rehired I wonder everyday going to work if its going to be there. There are jobs out there but a good one is hard to find. I feel bad for people who want to work but can't find a good job.

Very good news!! Glad to hear something positive for a change!! Good luck with your new position!! Geof

well don't take it personal ....its just a tough gig out there. I can think of at least five people I know who all have master's degrees who graduated last may with me and they have been all over Monster dot com and othe sites like that and are coming up empty handed for good stuff in their fields.

even im thinking its time to upgrade ....the same bread is not going as far anymore ....strange how that happened really gradual .....price goes up on everything around you and pay stays the same ....hmmmm time to go work for Gru Labratories as a minion.

I am just glad to hear a FABO brother from another mother found a good job and prayers sent that you like it and really make a go of it. :headbang:

Congratulations!!!! Not take the trooper cars out and see how they really run!

I worked at a gas station back in 71/72 and the local police would bring the cop cars in for work, Plymouth Fury's with 440's. It was fun to test drive them!!!

Now, what is their favored car?

cool man

don't do it on your first week there, but you should take one of those puppies home for a long test drive over the weekend and see what they do in the quarter mile

just to make sure, the department you service only runs chargers right ?

As far as I know. They run Fords and Mopars. If you see a cruiser at Lebanon it might be me. Lol.

Congrates, I'll bet that feels good.

A long time ago I worked for San Luis Obispo county in CA and did service and repair on all the police, county, and undercover vehicles.
They came out one day and asked me about one of my Brother's that was in prison in Oregon.
Next day, no job.

I was an MP in military before that, and my father was a current a California state prisons system employee.
Didn't matter.
