Broadcast sheet/fender tag engine codes

I thought will the many questions I see on this forum about codes I would submit thirty years of info that I have scribble down in a few books, junkyard research, Old magazines, etc. I kept during restorations over the years. This list is huge and cover codes from 1969 to around 1983. I will add to this list as time permits and if anybody notices any codes that may or are incorrect please feel free to challenge. a lot of this is hand written and is subject to mistakes. If this lists help one person it will be worth the time to input this data. I realized most of this info is available with on line decoders, but a list might be helpful to some. Next post will be "F" codes.
If this info is unneeded and the collective thinks this is unnecessary, please let me know. It will save a lot of two finger typing..lol. This list is by no means complete, but cover the most common codes, and a few obscure.

No problem. Have lots more but my work schedule has been brutal since the spring and don't have the time too work on Duster resto much less add too this list. have some time off at Christmas, maybe I will get some time too add to this list
 
I spent some time with the codes and pretty much none of them line up with my fender tag...and I'm pretty sure that my "A88" code is not a Duster 340 interior decor. :p Anyone care to take a look? Thanks!!

That all sounds right... the only puzzling bit is that my car doesn't seem to have the light package...unless both front fenders were replaced and perfectly matched to the rest of the car.

Again, this is hugely appreciated. Thanks for your time and effort on that.
 
MRGTX I believe that 29 in the vin number means coupe (rear side windows dont go down) example 73 & 74 charger (not SE version) the hardtop is code 23 they go down but the same style window that doesnt go down is a 29 code.

A10 is your scheduled production date, October 10th.

Most online decoders suck because they are not model year & model specific. Things like C16 as one example can be a console or the scheduled production date, it depends on where it is on the tag.
 
Without a daubt this must be by far the best source on codes for Mopar. That list is a detective work of enormous propotions!

Base cars had no side mouldings at all. The Custom Exterior package varied between Volare & Aspen, but both included vinyl inserted polished aluminum side mouldings running from the front fenders to the rear quarter panels. Aspen mouldings were placed higher on the body than Volare mouldings. There may have been other parts to the package, but I haven't specifically checked.

When Aspen/Volare were introduced in 1976, the base, mid-level and highline cars all could be identified by their model designations (L, H, P). All L cars had no model name, H cars were Custom for both Aspen & Volare. P were Aspen SE and Volare Premier respectively. In 1977 the model designations went away and ALL cars were identified as "L". The Custom and Premium(SE/Premiere) exterior and interior treatments became packages. So it was possible to get a plain car outside with a Premiere interior, or vice-versa. I personally have seen a number of cars with a Custom exterior and base interior.
