I'm running a 205/60/15 at the moment but want bigger I believe...Any suggestions?

Bigger as in taller or wider or both ? I ran 215-70-15s on the front of mine.

Anytime you get into the 26" range on a 67-68 Barracuda, wheel selection and suspension condition become critical.

I don't know why but all of the other cars (Darts, Dusters and so on) have less of an issue with this.

I can tell you for a fact that I don't have the room for 215-70-15 on my car (if that tire were mounted on a stock offset wheel).

A bunch of the guys on here, including myself, have ran a 215-60-15 (about .5" shorter than stock) with great success.

If you just look at the numbers, a 225-60-15 (25.6") or 215-65-15 (25.9") should work too, but don't get fooled here. They will work sometimes, depending on the car.

And that's the problem.... You can have 2 cars, same make and model year, using the same, factory offset wheel, one will hit while turning, and one won't.

So it really comes down to.... What tire will your wheel and car allow you to run. Safe bet, 215-60-15.

It depends on your rim. For example I have 225-60-15 BFG TAs on the front of my 65 Formula S. Torsion bars are stock .870s cranked down for approx a 1" drop in ride height (rear lowered also). Rims are 15x7 with 4.25" of back space, same as the"cop" rim (rear is 245-60-15s on same rim). I have zero rub any where. A deeper back space will allow you to run a wider rim/tire combo, ultimately limited by upper ball joint/tie rod end interference, over a stock spec. rim. If your running stock rim dimensions then stick with above recommendations. I think you would be safe in just about any A body with my tire/rim dimensions in the front.

what's your backspacing and rims width?

Right now, how much room do you have at the front bottom fender lip when you turn the wheels to when they are the closest to the fender? Check each side, doubtfull they will be 100% exactly the same.

I agree a 215/60/15 should be ok. But if you have 4.0" backspacing it may be close. And 3.75 backsping might rub.

When you turn your wheel, with what you have now, how close does it get?
A 215-60-15 will be about .5" taller and wider than what you have now.

I don't know how much room, The car is still in storage for winter. And I'll probably leave it alone if 1 tire size is all I can do.

I have 225 / 60 / 15 in the front of my 67 and have plenty of room

What is the exact width and backspacing of your front rims?

That would be good to know, because everyone I know who has tried that size has had rubbing problems. 215/60-15, yes. 225/60-15, no.

I've fit 225/60/15 on my 68 Barracuda. but with 15x7 4.25" backspacing cop car rims. I run big bolt pattern 73-76 spindles and disks.

I was running 3 degress of caster. That tilts the spindle back and results in the tire moving back a little too. I was also running 1/4 degree negative camber.

It's was still very very close. So close that every once in a while it would rub but not enough to harm anything. And I know people that have tried it and had rubbing.
