Be careful with any list, most have some errors.

Thanks guys..n gals..73 chgr 383 727-8 3/4 was 1st one I was looking for a buddy needing a driveshaft and had a few laying around and trying to help him out and I'm 60 miles away from him so if I can get him one matched up he wont have to have one shortened or re-fabbed and dont want him to make the trip for the wrong one,if memory serves me right it's 51" or 51 1/2" but cant find my info sheet I once had...and I have one thats 50 3/4",some 54-58" and of course I have my dart ones from 44-48" give or take...thanks

The 73 Chargers didn't come from the factory with a 383, but if you look at the PDF posted above, the 400 is listed & should be the measurement you're looking for.....

53.18 is the measurement listed for a 400 with an 8 3/4 if I'm reading the chart correctly?

Those driveshaft lengths only apply if you are using the proper stock transmission yoke.

If you are using anything that varies from the correct stock model yoke for your application, then those measurements are more or less basically meaningless. It will get you in the ballpark, but could be a complete strikeout in application.

Install the yoke you intend to use, weight the vehicle per usage, correct for the proper pullout, then measure, measure, and then measure again.

Yes I understand that 73 chgrs didnt come from factory with 383,but any 73 chgr that had 727--8 3/4 rears and v-8's 318-340-400-440 would have the same length driveshaft..this paticular car has a 68 383-727--8 3/4 rear, nothing from factory has been changed in suspension/motor mounts etc..unlike my dart which rearend was moved so different driveshaft was fabbed...I would've thought this info would be so scarce,He called me last nite and says it measures out at 51 1/2" length but I dont know if he allowed for any movement in trans yoke or not,so I am going to have him re-measure today, the only one close that I have measures 50 3/4" so he may have to have one cut down and rebalanced for his car...thanks to all for your help....

So far I have found 2 diff listings for driveshafts for 72-73 belv coronet chgr 1st being 50.80" and the 2nd being[71-74] 53.18" both v-8-727/833--8 3/4..weird...seems the yoke size/length must come into play here IDK...and both diameters being 3.25"....
