OK. Sooner or later it's time to leave the garage and return to the house for some relaxation. What a better way to relieve stress than to try this. I found that they make an HO scale drag strip that actually has a functioning Christmas tree and win light. The lights flash down like a real tree and will even indicate a red light if you're too quick on the draw. I even bought some extra track to extend the strip to over 31'.

I had to get a Barracuda and a Duster to start out.

But only 2 cars would be boring so I bought a few more to use.

Who makes that drag strip?

Was it something new or vintage?
Auto World. They make them new now in several different versions. The first one I saw for sale was at a Hobby Lobby. Prices vary of course, but expect to pay around $100. There's usually a handful for sale on eBay. The 13&1/2' track that comes with it should be about 20&1/2' long to be a scale 1/4 mile. I extended mine to over 30' because the cars are much faster (scale-wise) than real life and I wanted the cars to take a bit longer to reach the win light.

I decided to go full blown on the drag strip. I'm planning on fake grass, trees, people, grand stands, timing tower, fences, billboards, street lights, and background landscape. I'm using my printer to custom make my own signs. Pics to come...

NICE! A full blown diorama or layout of slot car racing to be had of all Mopar decent............ I can't think of a better way to make that happen! GREAT idea!

Anyone need of slot car track parts? I have some of that yellow railing and I think connectors,. but I got nothing for them to go too! Just cleaning up a buncha old boxes of mine with hobby stuffs in 'em and tossing out what I don't need, or have a use for, and these aren't something I just want to toss into a trash bin.....

PM me if interested, going cheap! Seriously, trade for model parts? or cost of shipping, either way they going!

Thanks for the offer but I've got about a dozen old race tracks sitting in my shop already. I'm like you, more likely to give some of it away.

yep. I hear ya, I'll never use the parts I have and I posted it here incase someone is in need, or simply wants more to go with whatever they already have.....I ain't got a single track never mind able to run it if I did so....I'd rather them go to be used to someone then me toss them away so.....

Sad part is, I can't remember where they came from, I ain't never had a "race track" so..... I got plenty of "trains" tho......more of them then most have hair in their heads! (No joke)
