Hello, I have lurked on here for awhile and finally made some progress on my turbo build. I would like to say thank you to everyone for sharing all of your projects, the wealth of information and innovation is great to pull ideas from.

My project is a 1969 Dodge Dart GT, the turbo is an ebay GT45.

So this is where I am at, car was running E85 on my old Haltech computer. On my way to the dyno shop, the ECU died so I will be installing the FAST XFI 2.0 soon.

Nice shop! Clean looking build. Can't wait to hear more. I haven't read about turbos much since gas went south in the mid-70s... but back then it was recommended because of low compression motors. Can turbos work safely these days on 10:1 CR? I guess you'd know how they could, or you wouldn't be building it - you seem like a very astute builder.

Admiring, I am,
JD

nice looking build man.. that's how I wanted mine at first then it just got out of control.. lol

10:1 and a .550 lift cam with a turbo? Interesting combo, keep us informed. Love the hot side design, im trying to use backwards magnum manifolds and the alternator area looks like a good spot for my turbo now. Sent pm

with e85 the 10.1 is just fine.. my setup is 10.4.1 but my cam is 675 lift.. will be on e85 as well.. love the car man..

Thanks for all the kind words!

I am planning on starting with 7psi and we'll see what happens from there.

Big fan of your build too rg.

Denny, I can't say enough about the k-member, it is awesome! Put a couple miles on it before my Haltech died and it handled great.

The only things you may have a issue with are the three bolt flanges on the headers. You have a hard time keeping them sealed up. There is a ton of heat and pressure down there. Hope they hold for ya cuz you've done a really clean install.

I nearly put vbands on the collectors but decided to try copper gaskets to start. I guess we'll see how it goes. I am out of town, but my FAST stuff arrived today...Can't wait to get back to it.

Looking for some opinions on ignition rotor phasing...With boost retard as much as 15 btdc and no load of 40, should I set it to 15, 20, or maybe 25? What do you guys think?

Here are some FAST XFI photos:

With respects,
I do not recognize the TBI unit You are using...
Could You post the MFR?

Thx!!

The throttle body was built by Momar injection. I bought it in 1999 and they haven't updated their website since 2001 so I am guessing they are not around anymore. Seems like everyone has a 4150 style throttle body now though.

great looking car and sweet build. No intercooler? Ditch the ugly carb hat, Spectre makes some affordable carb hats, high and low versions.
